The Game's EBL vs MLB 2012 & Beyond

I 1st started this league in 1999 stating with historical MLB. in 2003 I added the Endor Baseball League, a 8 team league. Since 2003 this league has grown to 20 team as of 2012. From 2003 - 2008, I was the GM/MGR & RF of the Endor City Capitals winning 4 World series in those 6 years. From 2009-2011 i was the GM/MGR & LF of the Rock City Rockies having 3 losing seasons. More on my Rock City years in this thread - http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ge-thread.html For 2012 i am taking over the expansion Willowbrook Warriors. This will be my final season as a ML GM/MGR & player. This is where I will begin. I will post historical screenshots soon.

2010 was a fluke year. Normally my Strategy is 30 yrs behind the current year, for 2010 it was set to 2011. The patch messed that up.

5 Notable Players

My 1st HOF induction wont be until 2017. Must play 10 seasons for HOF. These are 5 players that meant a lot to the game and did not play 10 seasons. I had to use HOF card to display career stats.

After my success in Endor City winning 4 championships in 6 seasons I have very high expectations for the 2012 Willowbrook Warriors. After the 2011 season ended I got together with owner William Malone and told him I could get the best CF in the game along with 3 of his best friends. Kevie Oko CF, Julio Granger SP, Don Mater SP & Ray Sharke Jr. C all played for Trout 2004-2008. Trout is in the state of Willowbrook. The state of Willowbrook, whose capital is Villa Park, has the largest population of Atlantisians outside of Atlantis. Atlantis, ya know the under water city, is on Endor. More on Atlantis in 2014. Kevie Oko is a 30 yr old CF 8 time all star, 5 GG. .317 lifetime hitter, 176 HR. He is the offensive player we will build this team around for the next 3 seasons. Julio Granger is a 6 time all star and has won a POTY award. 135-72 2.47 1840 K. Among the best LHP in the game. I signed each of these players to a 3 year deal
After these 2 there is a steep drop in talent.
I had my worst season of my 9 year career in rock City last year. We have 3 rookie starters in the IF. 3B Fred Flintstone & 2B Barney Rubble from near by Bedrock. Dick Kronfield will take over at 1B when he comes off of the DL. For now I have my bother-in-law 1B Bruno Scott & veteran 2B Sherman Allen at 1B. Tank, as people call Sherm has an outside chance at making the HOF someday and will be given every opportunity to get enough stats to get in. He is also a great leader and hope to see him as a manager someday. He can no longer play 2B. He just doesn't have the range or arm anymore.
I signed FA SS Claudio Torres who I had drafted and played with when I was with Endor City. Ozzie Guillen my BC from 2003 recommended him when he went home to Valenzuela after the 2004 season. He played for Endor City for 7 seasons. Although he played in 142 games last season he only had 308 AB's. 327 AB's is his career high. I need 550 out of him this year and stellar defense. He is the only one of my IF who I trust to both hit and field, the rest can do one or the other but not both. Kronfield I am undecided on for now.
To go along with Oko in CF I have myself back in RF after playing 3 seasons in LF while playing for Rock City. I signed for Rock City CF Carlos Martinez to play LF for Willowbrook. He can play all 3 OF spots and will hit lead most of the time. I called my old buddy Jody Gerut and asked him to come out of retirement and play OF for me. His arm and range are not what they used to be but he will be an adequate backup corner OF for this year. I also have young LF Gilberto Castro who I drafted in the expansion draft. He should be able to take over LF in 2013. I have 2 super utility players that can play multiple positions. Todd Frazier who I had traded for along with SP Brad Stupec when I was with Rock City from the Cincinnati Reds. Frazier can play 1B,3B, LF some 2B and very little SS. I also have Clayton Murray who I drafted in the expansion draft. He can play 2B, 3B, SS, LF & CF. He will also learn to play RF. He is a light hitter but can play defense.
My backup Catcher is veteran Kenji Johjima. He has been a backup C for various teams since 2007.
As you can see from my lineup vs RHP below I am trying to get the speed guys to get on so Oko and myself can drive them in. Any offense I get from Flintstone & Rubble will be greatly appreciated. Sharke is a streaky offensive guy. He will hit for weeks and can be clutch, then he will shut down and not be heard from again for weeks. We play in The Odium, a band box of a stadium modeled after Griffith Stadium. Great for offense, not so good for pitchers.
For my starting staff, I have Granger a LHP, RHP Brad Stupec, a crafty RHP who did well for me in Rock City especially before i traded the FA to be away. Don Mater who can start or pitch in relief, I promised him $10,000 for 225 IP, I don't see why he wont get it. LHP Abscott Nunan who I got in the ED. he had a great ST and I like having 2 LHP in the rotation. My #5 who will get skipped at times is Sergeant Jim Hindrickson. He was part of the commando team along with George Lattman C of Endor City during the Battle of Endor. I need a #5, who can pitch in relief when he gets skipped, Jim is willing to do that. I signed him as a FA for 4 years.
My pen has potential which is a great way of saying my pen is going to blow a ton of games for me. LHP Limbo Rush is the only guy I trust and was my #1 pick the the ED. He played for me in Endor City. My CL is unproven at the ML level. i have one too many LHP so I am waiting to see who tanks. Many of these guys who drafted in the ED and are just roster fillers. Blakenship, Wheaton & Thornhill all have starter stuff but throw under 90 MPH and will give up some monster HR to opposing hitters. Villagrana has some good potential and was with Ford who was known to have a great bullpen. He will probably be a CL someday.

The Preseason prediction has me at 70 wins and that is my goal.

1st opponent Endor City.
I managed and played for this team for 6 seasons. Many of my former teammates are gone. They still have the scrappy Kevin France who is among the all time leaders in stolen bases and batting average. John Williams, Enos Watts, George Lattman, Ian Vasquez & Zutton are also still here. Moose Burns, Scuba Steve Willis and David Kent have arrived since I have left and are becoming stars for the Caps. We are gonna see a lot of these guys with a divisional schedule. Endor City won the AL East last season but got beat by Colortown in 7 games in the ALCS. I am hoping to take on of these 2 games.
More on who made the teams as of OD here.

Endor City Sweeps Willowbrook

Endor City took both games from us. We lost 5-4 in Game 1 and 3-2 in Game 2. Overall I was very happy with how we played. No errors in either game and other then one missed bunt call by Stupec in Game 2 we did great. Escalante closed both games. He is among the best 3 closers in the game.

Now on to Bird City for a 4 game series. Picked up another IF off of waivers. This guy can play every position except C & LF. Sent Frazier to AAA Pippen Bullets.

Bird City Sweeps Willowbrook

The 1st game was a 5-0 blowout, the 2nd a 1-0 shutout by Jim Marler. Granger pitched really well in this game and I should have left him in to pitch the 8th. The 3rd game I am really upset about, a 3-2 loss. Walk off HR by Rick "Homerun" Baker. I dont know why we pitched to him, Gimm Cummings was only batting .100 coming into that game hitting cleanup. My offense is struggling to start the season.
Next up, a 4 game set with the Highland Scots at home. They are 5-2 so far leading the AL West.
Mater, Nunan, Hindrickson & Granger will start each game.

Willowbrook Wins Its 1st Game

Finally won a game, actually 3 of them. Took 3 of 4 from Highland. We dropped the 1st game 1-8 and looked bad in that game having 3 E. in game 2 LF Carlos Martinez hit a walk off single to win the game in the 10th. Games 3 & 4 were relatively easy. Game 3 the bats finally woke up with Rubble and myself hitting a HR each to win 6-1. In the final game Oko hit 2 dingers and Granger went the distance in a 7-1 win.
In other news I signed 2B Martin Prado and LF Vernon Wells to minor league deals. Both will play at AAA for a week or so then i will probably call them up. Prado can play several positions and has more pop then a few other bench players. Wells will probably replace LF Gilberto Castro, we'll see.

The Other Leagues - MLB

There are several other leagues that exist in this universe. Over the next several posts I will tell you more about them. I started this league with MLB in 1999. This was the year that 2 main players debuted. Harry Walker LHP SP, he is perhaps the most dominating SP in history. Jerome Hopkins, C, is among the best power hitting Catchers in history. defense is better then Piazza.
MLB HOF is unchanged thru 2012. If they are in the real HOF they are in my HOF. 2013 will be the 1st year that changes as Biggio, Bagwell, Baines and perhaps a few steroid users may get in.
Tell me who you want to see stats for and I will post in profile or a BB card for him.
As far as World Series, you can see below that the Boston Red Sox have gone to 6 WS winning 3 losing 3. Other then the fact that they kept Hanley Ramirez they have had no other custom players added to their team. Best team in the NL has been the New York Mets who have Harry Walker, Dan Price & Wilbur Duggleby.
My White Sox have been terrible and the fans are having to deal with the Cubs winning the WS in 2002.

MLB - Notable Players Part II

Here are 5 pitchers careers.
Note: King Felix had signed with *** I moved him to the Yankee since they had 16 million for FA. I try to block these signings earlier.

Other Leagues

The other leagues in these universe are the Coruscant Baseball Federation, a 16 team league on the worlds most populated planet started in 2005. They have a AAA on Corellia and a AA on Naboo. Plans to add Single A to Tatooine failed and Tatooine has it's own ML which started in October 2011.
5 notable players of the CBF. As you can see MLB grabbed a few of these guys. Many MLB players have played in this league.
