Strike THREE- 1995 Back to the Reserve Clause
I now have this series on Youtube and will do short writeups here as well
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RgiE...qnek44JKRTIgrz Right now in the 1st 3 years... Mike Piazza hit over .400 then was traded from Dodgers Dante Bichette hit 66 Hrs in 1995 with one oif the greatest seasons ever in an expansion year, much like Roger Maris before him Chipper Jones then tied him in 1997 My ability to not have a steroid era is not working Ok, my preliminary thought for this Dynasty is to start at the 1995 season A season and post season has been lost in the worst sports work stoppage in history. During this time Bud Selig, who colluded with Jerry Reinsdorf to keep Free Agent pay low and tried to setup a Salary cap to the players chagrin, died from a massive artery blockage of stupidity and self importance During this time, to stop the bleeding they resorted to what worked before To elect a SOLE Authoritive Commissioner of Baseball That man is BOB COSTAS Reinsdorf of the White Sox and George Steinbrenner were quickly forced to sell their teams. The Tribune company who owned the Cubs, under the new rules needed to sell... At the bequest of Commisioner Costas, the Cubs were sold to Lifelong Baseball fan and all around awesome wack job Bill Murray Murray grows a moustache in honor of the early owners of baseball The White Sox were bought by NBA GOAT Michael Jordan, who sorry to say White Sox fans, will probably mismange them. Side note-Jordan will also be PLAYING for the White Sox! Why? Because he CAN, Jordan is so powerful he is the only man in the WORLD that can sport a Hitler Moustache and not catch flak Zeig Heil das Triangle Offense The Yankees were sold to another celebrity fan, Billy Crystal, who stated 1995 would be in honor of his favorite player, the ailing Mickey Mantle Crystal's real reaction at his ownership approval Peter N.E. Hardy quickly got backing to buy the Blue Jays Again, in a great move by Costas, he got backers so that Mr. Baseball Bob Uecker could buy the Milwaukee Brewers. Uecker has stated he STILL will do play by play even though he is the owner. That's it? One G-- Damn hit? Texas Ranger Owner George W.Bush has stated "Costas is good persons, with him as Commisioner, I cannot justificate(sic) selling this team to run for President." Wayne Huizenga of the Marlins quickly sold his team, to an inspiring owner in owner in Portland, OR called JT Carlton, a former college ballplayer who made his money in little companies called Apple and AMD (where he was instrumental in developing the AM386 processor) Carlton has stated he would harken back to days of the Pacific Coast League and call his team the Portland Beavers. He has purchased Providence Park and stated he will re-rename it Holly Park after his late fiancee. Costas also went right after a problem that "Everyone knows about, but are ignoring, Performance Enhancing drugs in Baseball. They could cause records to be shattered and the most important aspect of this great game, history and stats to be a laughingstock." Costa quickly stated anyone caught using P.E.D.'s would face an AUTOMATIC one year suspension and the 2nd time would be a Permanent ban from the sport. Costas has also stated that in 1995 there will be an expansion of 4 new teams, including a revelation from a world leader in order to be the owner of one of these teams. In the AL and NL 8 teams would be in each division and Division leaders would meet in a 5 game playoff. "The October Classic belongs in October, greed has caused the conversation of more divisions and a new round of playoffs, what's next a Wildcard? Two wildcards? Baseball is unlike any other sport, it's a marathon and the World Series representatives should reflect that." Asked if he would consider home field advantage in the World Series to the All Star Game winner, Costas looked like this And he also placed in a rule that no Stadium will be named after a Corporation either. "In baseball's heyday, there were the Polo Grounds,Forbes Field,Sportsman Park, now it's Coors field, Cinergy Park, when does it end? Will we name it after a Pet food company next?" I do have suggestions though What financial settings would you use for the league and the draft? What would you rename Coors Field? What 2 cities do you think deserve a MLB team? Who do YOU think will fail the upcoming P.E.D. test?? What do you think of creating yourself as a 2 Star prospect? More to come.... Last edited by Carlton; 12-15-2020 at 06:10 PM. |

Awesome concept, I'll be checking this out.
Might I suggest the fine state of Hawaii getting a team? Id rename Coors Field to Rocky Mountain Ballpark I predict Sammy Sosa and Frank Thomas to fall their PED tests. Thomas for shock value. And I could totally get behind the idea of creating myself as a prospect. Count me in Last edited by GoBucsGo; 03-18-2014 at 09:00 PM. |

That's definitely an old-school baseball fan's dream, right there.
Can't wait to see how it plays out. Good luck with it! As a person who recently started doing dynasty reports, I can tell you that it's a lot of work, especially trying to guess what people might find interesting. Hope you have as much fun as I am having so far! |

Ok Hawaii it is...I will recreate the PCL Hawaii Islanders, should I re do Les Murakami Stadium (it only seats 4,312) or should I build a new stadium? If the latter, what would you name it? I am making it a Pitcher's Park Coors Field is now renamed Rocky Mountain Ballpark Let me know name (or pseudo name if you wish to be anonymous) position(s) and skillset (take a lot of pitches, good field/no hit,HR and walks) and what team you wish to be on. Keep in mind, I am making you only a 2 star prospect, so development will be key to see if you are a major leaguer or career minor leaguer. You too Panel Patter, and I've done many Historical replay dynasty's so the work isn't the hard part (see my semi historical dynasty) it's keeping guys entralled in the story, I am with you on that. Hopefully, this works, as it's the first time I've tried a modern day league |

These are GUMMY BEARS" Costas has stated there is very solid evidence of new drugs trafficing from the Dominican Republic, where drug laws are lax and that players coming from that country will be watched carefully. With that news, many teams have closed down their baseball 'factories' in the Dominican and are now looking at Japan as the new untapped potential. Commisioner Bob Costas has stated that he will be in talks with Japanese leagues in order to implement a plan to bring Japanese players into MLB Last edited by Carlton; 03-19-2014 at 10:20 AM. |

They'd have no choice but to become cheaters too!" I'll give this a go.
What financial settings would you use for the league and the draft? I'd use mid-to-late 90's and have the draft on October 10th. Use the Spritze (not HS) database. What would you rename Coors Field? The Wild West Emporium What 2 cities do you think deserve a MLB team? How about Busan, South Korea? Asian Expansion, Rabid Fan Base,Compliments Hawaii. The real life team goes by the "Lotte Giants" but unofficially are called the "Busan Gulls". On a related note, will realignment accompany exansion? Will Milwaukee remain in the AL Central and Detroit stay in the AL East? Who do YOU think will fail the upcoming P.E.D. test?? Roger Clemens and Rafael Palimero will fail the next one. What do you think of creating yourself as a 2 Star prospect? Si.Name: Pablo "The Secret Weapon" Sanchez Height: 4'10' Weight: 105 Pounds Position: SS Age: 15 Bats: R/R An inexperienced immigrant from Tijuana, Mexico by way of Orange County, California, Mr. Sanchez caught scouts eyes in the California AAU affiliate league BBL. His batting tools are quite raw. A natural free-swinger, Sanchez struggles to hit for contact and strikes out far too much. The young immigrant has innate power stroke that should develop with time. Pablo is a lightning quick runner. The inexperienced shortstop has above-average range in the infield. Time will tell if Mr. Sanchez can develop into a major-league quality player.

I'll throw myself as a 2-star prospect into the list. Assuming I got drafted out of high school ...
Name: Dan Kauffman Ethnicity: Caucasion Height: 5-9 Weight: 155 From: Hagerstown, MD Desired Team: Baltimore Orioles Position: RHP Skillset: Two-seam fastball tops out at 90-92 mph but has good late movement. Circle change is best off-speed pitch. Also features big, slow 12-6 curve that needs refining, and a rare four-seam fastball he elevates as a strikeout pitch. That said, he's much more a control pitcher than a power pitcher. Stamina is average. Solid athlete who fields his position well. Last edited by antidan444; 03-19-2014 at 02:33 PM. Reason: Oh yeah, he can't hit a lick, and couldn't hit in Little League, either. |

I decided Bonds, if others did not use this like candy, then why would Bonds feel slighted and pissed and join them? He essentially started after Sosa and McGwire broke records by cheating...now, they can't. But yes, that quote was very much tongue in cheek and Mark Cuban...very nice! I have Backyard baseball on my computer and always grab the Secret Weapon, but I am trying to make it slightly realistic...so Pablo will have to sit the pine. |

I tried to accentuate his failures and downplay his successes. Not sure how well a 4'10, 105 pound shortstop will do in the majors, but it should be fun.

Said Crystal "Can ya imagine Da Mick wasting his last years as a DH? It's horrible, like City Slickers II" Also Joining the league are the Hawaii Islanders, which will join the NL West and the Washington Nationals, who will join the AL East, allowing the Milwaukee Brewers to rejoin the NL East The Islanders will be owned by Henk Rogers, the creator of Super Black Onyx and the man who made kids everywhere hum the TETRIS theme [/img] "If you think Tetris was full of shapes, wait until you see my stadium design" The Islanders will play in Les Murakami Stadium which will be refurbished to hold 32,800 and be an extreme pitcher's park. and Lastly, the Washington Nationals will be reborn under the Ownership of Ted Lerner "HA! EXPANSION DRAFT The results of the expansion draft Fidel Castro has baseball by the short and curlies and finagled his way to pick 1st, why? Because he loves Eckersley's moustache! Dennis Eckersley was picked 1st by Havana Roger Clemens was picked by Hawaii Mexico City picked year long suspension Jose Canseco...good job Mexico! Ay Carumba! Jamie Moyer was picked up by the Nationals In round 4 Hawaii got a steal in Mike Mussina Round 5 Jack Morris goes to Mexico Omar Vizquel goes to Hawaii MARIANO RIVERA GOES TO MEXICO CITY IN ROUND 6!!! Unknown now, he may be a good closer some day Not a lot of other good signings Joe Carter went to the Nationals Sandy Alomar Jr. went to Havana Dwight Gooden went to Mexico...uh oh, that Coke habit might pop up...if he fields a bunt and snorts the chalkline up trying to tag the runner, we may have to test and a lot of teams still drafted the Year Long suspension guys Last edited by Carlton; 04-14-2014 at 09:14 AM. |

This dynasty is AWESOME already. The owners you've picked are brilliant and I can't wait to see what role they play with their teams. Havana might just be my new favorite team.

The Chicago White Sox are predicted to win the AL East and the KC Royals look like they will finally get the playoff hump off their back
Said Michael Jordan upon hearing the prediction "I'll bet you $5,000,000 the White Sox win!" Kevin Appier leads the Royals rotation along with 30yr old Jim Neidlinger,28 yr old Randy Tomlin and old man Dennis Rasmussen But Randy Johnson is suspended for 365 days, WTF OOTP? Do you think he's that good? The 3 Expansion teams look to be better than advertised 35 year old Jamacian Chili Davis looks to have a resurgence year with Havana, and he is only a jump away from his home country. Havana has a rotation of Ramon Martinez, Knuckleballer Tim Wakefield, Japanese import Masato Yoshii, Scott Sanderson and Woody Williams with Dennis Eckersley as the closer Along with Davis, Steve Finley, Jeff Kent, Wally Joyner and Andy Van Slyke are in the lineup. They are led by "Charlie Hustle" Mr. Pete Rose himself, whose ban is lifted and he is slotted to join the HOF, as Costas has done away with the archaic Gambling ban. The GM is Fidel's brother Raul. Asked about his chances Pete Rose stated: "I wouldn't say we will finish last, in fact I'll bet...errr, I mean, you'll see" Havana has the Vertientes Lawbreakers at AAA, Baton Rouge Pelicans at AA, Yuma Scorpions at A, Butte Copper Kings at SA and AZL team at rookie. The Mexico City Diablos Rojos have a great rotation, if it was 1988 Steve Avery leads a staff of Bret Saberhagen, Dwight Gooden and Dave Stewart with a young hurler named Mariano Rivera vying for the 5th spot. Also on the staff are Frank Viola and Jack Morris if Rivera or any other falters. Jeff Brantley, a failed SP is slotted to be the closer. The Rojos have a lineup of Lance Johnson, J.T. Snow, Gary Gaetti and Ruben Sierra. Their AAA affiliate is in Monterrey, AA are the Santa Fe Fuego, A is Acapulco Cliff Divers, SA are the Lethbridge Mounties, rookie is AZL They are led by The Mendoza line, Mr. Mario Mendoza The Nationals look to be the whipping boy of the AL East as they have a sub par rotation of Ismael Valdez, Al Leiter, Jamie Moyer, Ron Darling and Mike Moore with Jose Mesa closing The lineup has BJ Surhoff batting 3rd and Shawon Dunston cleanup...that's all you need to know. They are led by HOFer Frank Robinson They have the Phoenix Firebirds at AAA, South Bend Silver Hawks at AA, Savannah Sand Gnats at A, Nashua Silver Knights at SA and Cheyenne Cowboys at rookie level. |

In the NL Mike Mussina looks to have a great season at the Pitcher's park of Hawaii and ursurp Greg Maddux as the Best P in the NL
The Cubs look to break the Pennant drought, but these are the Cubbies, even with Bill Murray at the helm. The Mets,Braves and Reds will be hard to beat. The West looks to be a battle between the Astros and Giants How Dante Bichette will come close to .400 is beyond me The Expansion Hawaii Islanders will try and battle to .500 on the backs of Mike Mussina,Tim Belcher,Kip Gross, Roger Clemens and Jose Guzman in the rotation with Jeff Russell closing and Dave Righetti and Bob Wickman in the bullpen. It will be up to Delino DeShields,Willie McGee, Dave Magadan, Shawn Green and Ellis Burks to produce runs. Former Brave Dale Murphy will lead the team with Asian superstar Yutaka Fukumoto as his GM...look for Japanese talent to come into Hawaii over the next few years. Hawaii has the Sacramento Senators at AAA, Garden Grove Volunteers at AA, Long Beach Armada at A, Helena West Side Trouncers at SA and Casper Ghosts at rookie level. |
