As the pre-season starts the writers are pretty happy about the Blue Jays. They missed winning the AL East by only one game and they are listed as one of the most improved teams in MLB since last season.

Steve Scarsone signed a five-year deal. This is his first MLB managing gig following three years with the Sacramento River Cats of the PCL.

Aaron Loup and Marcus Stroman really struggled against the Red Sox as the Jays fell 9-5.

This game went much better as Neftali Feliz threw 5 scoreless innings, giving up only 3 hits and striking out 4 as the Jays beat the Orioles 4-2.

Ubaldo Jimenez' first start of the spring was quite productive. He went 5 strong on the way to a 7-3 win over the Astros.

Another strong spring game as the players shake the rust off. Hyun-Jin Ryu's start is promising after his struggles last year. Toronto beat the Yankees 7-2.

Danny Salazar pitched 5 shut-out innings against the White Sox. The bullpen wasn't quite s effective but Toronto was able to hold on for a 4-2 win.

Brian Cavazos-Glavez and Jackie Bradley Jr. each got their first homer of the spring.

If the Blue Jays were trying to find hidden gold with Manny Banuelos they have to have come to their senses now as he was rocked by Cleveland, while Trevor Bauer was mowing don the Toronto hitters.

Once again a pitcher fighting for attention fails to deliver but this time the Toronto batters gave nearly as much as they got as the Jays fell to the Rays, 7-6.

A pretty solid Spring game, only marred by Chevy Clarke leaving with an injury that will force him to miss the next week or two of S.T.

Ryan Verdugo pitched four strong innings before struggling through the fifth. Marcus Stroman also continued to struggle and the Twins beat the Jays 7-2.

Lawrie and Heyward have struggled mightily this spring while some of the young players have sparkled. Moving them to the minor league camp will let them work out of their slumps in a lower pressure environment.

Mat Latos had a very tough outing but the Jays bats kept slugging. Eventually it was a bottom of the tenth, 2-run, walk-off single by Jarrod Saltalamacchia that gave Toronto the 12-11 win over Oakland.

A close game got less so once Jace Peterson plated three with his first homer of the spring.

Jays beat the Rangers 8-4.
