As the pre-season starts the writers are pretty happy about the Blue Jays. They missed winning the AL East by only one game and they are listed as one of the most improved teams in MLB since last season.

The game crashed twice through my first Spring Training game. Eventually I simmed it, just so the game would finish. Sigh.

Danny Salazar pitched 5 shut-out innings against the White Sox. The bullpen wasn't quite s effective but Toronto was able to hold on for a 4-2 win. First round of cuts.
Sent to Minor League camp: Brett Lawrie Jason Heyward Dallas Keuchel Marcus Stroman Nick Williams Moved to the bullpen: Manny Banuelos Lawrie and Heyward have struggled mightily this spring while some of the young players have sparkled. Moving them to the minor league camp will let them work out of their slumps in a lower pressure environment. It worked very well for Lawrie last year.

Mat Latos had a very tough outing but the Jays bats kept slugging. Eventually it was a bottom of the tenth, 2-run, walk-off single by Jarrod Saltalamacchia that gave Toronto the 12-11 win over Oakland. WP - Pat Neshek (1-0) LP - Even Scribner (1-1) Spring Record - 6-4
