The Game Presents: 1994

Markus just released a 1994 Quickstart. http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ml#post3741987
I will take over from August 12th 1994 and see if the White Sox can fend off the Indians who they lead by just 1 game.
I made some edits to markus' version. I added all team nicknames and all logos, Home/Away jerseys are accurate using Reds1 set. I also added various parks that are no longer around. I forgot if those would still show up in a QS. Here is my edited version. Nothing else has been touched yet with the exception of a 1-10 scale for ratings.

Black Sox: White Sox Weekly

When the strike happened in 1994, I am not sure if i cared too much. I was just days away from going to Great Lakes Naval Training Center for bootcamp and would have missed most if not all of the 1994 World Series anyway. Looking back at the 1 game lead we had over Cleveland, I am not sure that we would have beaten them out for the Central Division title. Let's see what would have happened.
The White Sox in 1994 were led by MVP Frank Thomas, current MGR Robin Ventura and my 2nd fav Sox MGR and 3rd overall favorite player Ozzie Guillen. sure he wasn't a major offensive player but he was a clubhouse leader. One Dog patrolled CF. "Never fear One Dog is here" is my favorite catch phrase from announcer Hawk Harrellson.
A look at standings from August 12th and a look at the Sox roster, lineups & staff.
In the background I am jamming out to some of the best songs of 1994.

Division Leaders & Wild Card Leaders

1994 was the 1st year under the 3 division format with a wild card. While Montreal was the team to beat in the National league, would they have beaten Atlanta, LA, or Cin/Hou in the playoffs? Cleveland lead in the wild card, so they could have still gotten to the World Series anyway. Yankees were up and coming under MGR Buck Showalter. Texas & Oakland were battling in the west and Haddaway's "What Is Love" was on the radio.(not sure when the song came out in '94)

Haddaway's "What is Love" came out late fall of 1993, but was still in heavy rotation well into 1994. Are you going to be updating the injuries?

No too time consuming. I tend to only play OOTP Thu - Sun morning. 12 hr shifts takes too much OOTP time out of my life and 1994 is one of 4 active leagues I have.

Black Sox: White Sox Weekly

1-1 so far vs the Twins. I lost the 1st game by perhaps leaving Black jack McDowell in too long and the 2nd I let Gene Lamont take over in the 3rd. Lisa Loeb's "Stay (I Missed You)" was my buddy Alfredo's favorite song of 1994.

Weekly Standings.

Gwynn is closer to .400. Sox still lead by 1 game. Reds lead in the NL Central.

This is awesome - early 90s is my favorite era for music and baseball so keep the 90s playlist references coming! Looking forward to seeing how this wraps up.
