200+ years of history: Your Chance To Participate
You can download the league file here
I have a dynasty that began in 1800 that's currently in the year 2039. The league has a high school feed, a Canadian winter league with its own college feeder and all of them go to the draft. Anyway, I'm just getting back into the dynasty after years away. I started it in 2008 and have upgraded it in every version of OOTP. I'm looking for the next generation of legends and want your help. Would you like to participate in the dynasty? Would you like to be part of the legendary history of this league? Post in this thread and we'll get you setup in the minors. Please keep the player names somewhat realistic, not like swears or something because it messes with my realism. (you can use fake name generator if you need name ideas...I do.) Quote:

Loving the names, gang. Will be updating over the next day or two. Half of you will be inputted as high school kids, the other half as college kids because I want to make sure you're not all exactly in the same class.
Here's the link to the HTML of the last season I uploaded which won't include anyone now and even a few team moves of late, but...it'll give you a sense of the updated nature of the universe pre-some recent changes. Oh re: injuries, I play this league fast-sim, so there are no injuries. |

Okay, I got home super late and wasn't able to put in everyone yet. The first four guys have been inputted onto Junior League teams and I'm going to sim through to the draft to see where they end up getting drafted into the majors. I'll try tomorrow to add others so far and do the same. But our first four are on their way!

Okay, so had a bit of time today and got everyone added and the draft hasn't been run yet for this year. So I'm going to run it now and will let everyone know where they've been drafted. Will not be able to update the HTML until the weekend probably (take a while) but will keep you otherwise posted with annual reports.
Anyway, draft day is almost here. |

2040 FIRST-YEAR PLAYER DRAFT
SP Charlie Cooper, Philadelphia Quakers (1.1) The Quakers had a really down year last year after winning back to back Daylight Series titles. The joke is going to be here that they tanked to get you in the draft, Charlie as a PA native. SP Jason Jackson, Colorado Gold Sox (1.2) CF Johnny Rossetto, Eau Claire Paws (1.3) 1B Jeremy Schenk, Baton Rouge Red Sticks (1.4) CF Jack Lehman, Oklahoma City 89ers (1.5) C Joey Roberts, Los Angeles Seraphs (1.11) C Mark Allen, Danbury Hatters (1.13) SP David Sperling, Louisville Robins (1.26) CF Alexander Ritt, New York Knights (1.29) SP Todd Bremer, San Francisco Peanuts (1.31) After the first round of the draft, the only two of our first-year recruits who are on the draft board are Caesar D'Elia & Allan Bell. SS Caesar D'Elia, Colorado Gold Sox (3.2) SS Allan Bell, Eau Claire Paws (3.3) The mistake with them is I had them on the feeder team of Canadian League teams before realizing they weren't eligible for the draft being there and so, I moved them out afterwards. This accounts for their low draft position, but in reality, we can attribute to something like signability issues or character problems. |

He led the majors in complete games (9), Wild Pitches (11) and batters faced (1079) in his rookie year. He won NL pitcher of the month in June. Allan Bell had an interesting start to his career. He was suspended until the trade deadline and then at the deadline was dealt from Eau Claire to California Wrens. He made his major league debut there and made 32 starts to help them en route to their post-season appearance and he'll be on the roster. So he's the first player of the 2040 class to end up in the post-season. Reality is, for whatever reason Eau Claire released him after leaving him not on any minor league for half the year. I went back and made his ratings reflect David Eckstein's best season (what I've done for every other player was to take the average of their seasons using baseball reference) and since he'd missed the whole year decided that rather than base it off "potential" ratings, I decided to affix that to both "potential" and "actual" so it made him major league ready now. A small compensation for the game screwing up his debut. 2040 POSTSEASON MATCHUPS Wild Card Series (best of 3) Division Series (best of 5) League Championship (best of 7) Daylight Series (best of 9) |
