American Baseball League
New Baseball League Forming November, 1935 Washington, DC - In hopes of bringing the United States out of the Great Depression, Christopher Husley has announced the formation of a new baseball league. The new league will be called the "American Baseball League" and consist of six franchises. These six franchises will be in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Des Moines, Atlanta, and Washington, DC. Mr. Husley was elected the first commissioner of the ABL yesterday and will take reigns of the league for the foreseeable future. The so called "Original Six" will play in one league together, with each team competing in 154 games a season, spanning from early April to October. The top two teams in the league will play in a 5-game series to determine the ABL champion each year. Mr. Husley unveiled a league logo to the public today and also announced that each of the six franchises will be announcing it's team name and information in the coming days. After each team has released it's nickname, commissioner Husley will announce the plans for the "Inaugural Draft" or dispersal of players to the teams.
