FBL - Historical, Random Debut League started in 1974
I started a historical, random debut league in 1974.
I am the "unfireable" manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers and am playing as Manager Only, so I have no control over trades, signings, or promotions. I play out each of my team's games in one-pitch mode. Once I am eliminated from the postseason, I auto-sim to the end of the season. I have now completed ten seasons and thought I would share some of the stats and info from the league. I use random debut players, using the Spritze DB (except for the inaugural draft) with players that played after 1907, so players are coming in to the league often at the age of 18 or 19. I used neutralized ratings, have trading set to hard, have injuries set to hard, and potential is based on peak seasons. My own team is horrendous with only one playoff appearance in 10 years. However, I place a large part of the blame on the owner/gm (see post: It's Only a Game, They are Only Numbers... to see one example of the choices they make...) This series of posts will be general information about the league, so I will only be posting at various milestones in the league. In this case, the end of 10 years. Please feel free to ask questions. |
