Wanna play D1 college baseball?
That's right. I have a template that I had to edit a bit (can't remember where I got it from for the life of me) that allowed me to add D1 NCAA teams/conferences into the world. To keep this semi interesting, I'm not making it a feeder league for MLB, I'm going to make it a stand alone league so players can go anywhere after playing (allowing the weaker players to go play Indy ball, or overseas possibly). I'm currently in the process of going through the MLB 2015 draft pool, adding players into their respective colleges while leaving all the juco/D2/D3 etc players. Since the start date is March 23rd, the first season is beginning Sunday, March 29th, with the draft at the end of the season. I'm taking over my hometown school of Northern Colorado. Players will have until the end of the NCAA tournament to sign up for the draft. Once my internet is up and running again, I'll post screen shots, stats, etc. I figure this A) gives people sufficient time to sign up, and B) allows me to fix my internet issue before needing to post anything.

Since my laptop is still semi on the fritz after recovering from crashing, I'll have to post updates with text only via my phone.
April 6: Top 25 1) Arkansas State 2) Elon 3) Cal St Bakersfield 4) Mississippi Valley State 5) UT-San Antonio 6) Prairie View A&M 7) Southern Illinois 8) New Orleans 9) Kansas State 10) Milwaukee 11) Western Kentucky 12) Pittsburgh 13) North Carolina A&T 14) Northern Kentucky 15) Southern California 16) Kansas 17) Oral Roberts 18) Baylor 19) Dartmouth 20) Harvard 21) Iona 22) Jacksonville State 23) Arkansas 24) Clemson 25) New Mexico 68) Northern Colorado My team is 5-3, tied 111th for runs scored with 34, 24th in AVG hitting .307, 41st in OBP with .366, tied 209th in HR with 2, tied 144th in DB with 4, tied 35th in runs against with 23, Starters ERA tied 125th with 3.28, Bullpen ERA tied 24th with 1.14, and tied 42st in defensive efficiency with a .714 fielding percentage. I decided as well to shortlist all the high school prospects, and keep tabs on them. Those that don't sign in the MLB draft and go to a college, I will assign them to that school. Well, I decided to sim. I'm sitting with a 33-25 record. 6 back with 6 to play, so only way realistically of me making it is as a wildcard, where I'm showing up as 42nd, 3 back. Here's how I set the playoffs up (the number representing the amount of top teams I'm allowing from each conference):
American Athletic-1, America East-1, ACC Coastal-2, ACC Atlantic-2, Atlantic Sun-1, A10-1, Big East-2, Big South-1, Big 10-2, Big 12-2, Big West-2, CAA-1, CUSA-2, Horizon-1, Ivy Gherig-1, Ivy Rolfe-1, MAAC-1, MAC East-1, MAC West-1, MEAC-1, MVC-1, MWC-1, NEC-1, OVC-1, PAC 12 North-1, PAC 12 South-2, Patriot-1, SEC East-2, SEC West-2, SoCon-1, Southland-1, SWAC East-1, SWAC West-1, Summit-1, Sun Belt-1, WCC-1, WAC-1, with 14 wildcards instead of the "selection committee". I'll post the bracket (with overall seeds) once the playoffs start, as round by round updates (while I come up with some player names (who were some of the best ever in college ball) to use for the bracket regions. I'm deciding between Joe Carter (Wichita State), Neal Heston (Miami), Darren Dreifort (Wichita State), Kirk Dressendorfer (Texas), Jim Abbott (Michigan), Burt Hooton (Texas), Barry Larkin (Michigan), Fred Lynn (Southern Cal), Will Clark (Mississippi State), Rafael Palmiero (Mississippi State), Floyd Bannister (Arizona State), Phil Stephenson (Wichita State), Jackie Robinson (UCLA), Brooks Kieshnick (Texas), Greg Swindell (Texas), Stephen Strausburg (San Diego State), Lance Berkman (Rice), Ben McDonald (LSU), Pete Incaviglia (Oklahoma State), Robin Ventura (Oklahoma State), Bob Horner (Arizona State), John Olerud (Washington State), Dave Winfield (Minnesota), Reggie Jackson (Arizona State), and Barry Bonds (Arizona State). I think names will be decided based off the top seeds in each regional, and rotate names yearly. Last edited by tysnkole6; 02-11-2016 at 06:52 PM. |

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. The #1 overall seed Eastern Kentucky Colonels has fallen to the Virginia Cavaliers in the College World Series, leaving Indiana State as the only remaining #1 seed. Also advancing are UMBC, and Prairie View A&M.

The simulations are done, and the final is set. Squaring off in the initial College World Series final are:
the UMBC Retrievers, with a 43-21 record, representing the American East Conference, led by RF Lou Ford (.320 AVG, 7 HR, 31 RBI) and SP Stu Jones (2.37 ERA, 9 W, 114 K) traveling to Terre Haute, Indiana to square off against the Indiana State Sycamores, with a 46-18 record, representing the Missouri Valley Conference, led by LF Armando Castillo (.344 AVG, 14 HR, 67 RBI) and SP Warren Walker (1.49 ERA, 10 W, 95 K) |

Oh, one other note before the final gets started-I calculated the percentage (.395) of games played compared to a MLB schedule, and set the milestone/HOF stats accordingly, with a 5 year wait, 20 years on the ballot (due to the possible amount of players), 0 service years (couldn't set it to 4), 75% induction rate remained, changed the dropped players from 5% to 2%, and raised max votes to 20 due to possible amount of players.
