The Metropolitan Baseball Association (Prelude&1954)
Hey! Thanks for reading the MBA! It's my solo fictional league thats soon to begin. Right now I'm just waiting on the game to arrive (ordered on cd...BIG MISTAKE!!).
The Met is based in an alternate past in which a prolongled WWII caused the MLB to fold. I'm not a fiction writer so if you find the backstory a little lame, it's not my fault! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Professional Baseball on the Way Back! New League Forms October 2nd, 1953 AP- Baseball will soon be joining the other American institutions that have found new life since the end of the war. In a formal release yesterday it was confirmed that a new league will open play in 1954. Dubbed the Metropolitan Baseball Association, the league will be America's first attempt at professional baseball since the MLB foled in 1944. The league has selected Branch Rickey as president. Mr. Rickey was formerly a General Manager of several clubs. He was selected based on his innovative leadership. Rickey along with the Board of Representitives (reps. from each club) will serve as the governing force of the 12-team organization. The group's first act was to repeal the so-called Gentlemens' Agreement of 1888. On the field, the teams will be located in the same cities. The league, however has already annouced that westward expansion will occur. Code:
