No players were elected to the RL HOF in 1945 by the BBWAA, but the following players were elected by the VC - Jesse Burkett, Frank Chance, Jack Chesbro, Johnny Evers, Tommy McCarthy, Joe McGinnity, Eddie Plank, Joe Tinker, Rube Waddell and Ed Walsh.

All players who received at least 5% of votes on the last ballot were retained for this ballot. I also added players who became eligible for the ballot in 1946 (retired after 1940 season).

All players not receiving 5% of votes on this ballot will be removed. Also, all players who have been retired for 20 years fall off this ballot if not elected.

Vote for as many or as few as you want. Max votes are 10.

HOF Standard: 50 is considered an average HOF'er. 100 is max.

Afraid so. Most of them fell off for vet committee consideration. That probably means a guy like Tobe Palmer wouldn't have failed to get 5% if they had dropped of in an earlier season, but over time we'll get some more. There haven't been any quality pitchers eligible for the ballot in recently.

This was a very close vote, with two players missing induction by the closest margin I think we've ever seen. Walls & Chestnut are 1st ballot inductees, while Fournier was close once again, but moves on to VC consideration, where he is a likely candidate. Code: Levi Walls 93.33% Tyrell Chestnut 86.67% Roy Hobbs 73.33% Bull Zegri 73.33% Patrick Seifried 66.67% Ray Brown 66.67% Dale Reneau 53.33% Frenchie Fournier 40.00% Slap Hertzog 33.33% Jon Minzey 33.33% Willard Schwarz 33.33% Ned Fargo 20.00% Nick Graves 13.33% Troy Kinnear 13.33% Howard Parrish 6.67% The following players did not receive 5% of the vote & will be dropped from the ballot.
