Website has been reactivated...thanks to my webmaster.

After three years of wondering about how to do it, I just accidentally found out how all of you guys post your avatars.

So I thought I would put one up.

Didn't use my wife (a cheerleader in college)...or my girlfriend, if I had one (my wife wouldn't like it and might drastically cut my allowance).

So I chose my favorite ballplayer.

Here is my alltime favorite ballplayer: Stan "the Man" Musial...the Duke of Donora, Pennsylvania.

AMERICAN LEAGUE

LEADING NY YANKS SURPRISED TWICE BY LOWLY LAST PLACE BROWNS...SECOND PLACE CHISOX SPLIT WITH FIFTH PLACE BOSOX, STILL 6.5 GAMES BACK...THIRD PLACE DETROIT DIVIDES TWO WITH SIXTH PLACE SENATORS...AND FOURTH PLACE PHILADELPHIA A'S AND SEVENTH PLACE INDIANS EACH WIN A GAME IN A TWINBILL

BROWNS BOMB BOMBERS IN OPENER...GARVER HOLDS THEM IN CHECK
NYY - 200 000 000 - 2 9 0 (first game)
STB - 041 000 42X -11 17 0

WP: Garver (10-9 3.86) Palmer (9th)
LP: Ford (14-10 3.33) Chandler (3rd) Raschi (4th) Lyle (7th) Gossage (7th)
HR: (none)
NY ran into a Brownie buzzsaw as St. Louis pummeled five Yankee pitches for seventeen hits, led by George Sisler's (.343) 4-5 and three rbi's and Hank Severeid's (.276) 3-4 and three rbi's...winning pitcher Ned Garver yielded nine hits and five walks, but never did get hurt after a two-run first...AL batting leader, Sisler, upped his hitting streak to 16 games.

CUELLAR QUELLS MIGHTY YANKS IN SECOND GAME
NYY - 000 100 000 - 1 7 0 (second game)
STB - 000 101 00X - 2 4 2

WP: Cuellar (14-11 3.01)
LP: Foster (8-5 2.84) Pennock (7th)
HR: NYY - J. DiMaggio (17) STB - Sisler (8)
Mike Cuellar stops the mighty Yanks on a seven-hit job, fanning seven and walking none en route to his 14th win...George Sisler's (.343) sixth-inning slam was the margin of victory and gave the Browns a surprising sweep of the top AL club...It was the 17th consecutive game Sisler has hit in...Rube Foster pitched well in defeat, giving up two runs and three hits in six innings.

BOSTON WINS FIRST GAME WITH LATE INNINGS RALLY
CWS - 100 004 000 - 5 6 1 (first game)
BOS -- 000 010 34X -8 12 1

WP: G. Ruth (10-12 3.97) Radatz (9th)
Save: Radatz 11 (7-4 1.49)
LP: Thigpen (5-3 3.34)
Walsh (SP) Thigpen (7th) Pierce (8th)
HR: BOS - M. Vaughn (7)
The Boston bats erupted for seven runs in the last two innings to overcome a 5-1 White Sox's lead...in the eighth Ted Williams' (.264) double tied it up and Oscar Charleton's triple gave the Bosox the victory...Dick Radatz saved it for George Ruth in the ninth and got the last two outs with the bases loaded...Happy Felsch (.318) had three rbi's for Chicago.

PALE HORSE REPAY THE FAVOR IN NIGHTCAP WITH THREE IN THE NINTH
CWS - 010 000 003 - 4 8 2 (second game)
BOS -- 001 000 020 - 3 8 2

WP: W. Wood (13-10 2.95)
LP: J. Wood (9-11 4.36) Radatz (9th)
HR: CWS - F. Thomas (29)
Winner Wilbur Wood did double duty with his arm and his bat...his key ninth inning double off Dick Radatz plated the winning runs...on the mound he held Boston to three runs, whiffing eight and walking three...Smoky Joe Wood weakened in the last inning and suffered the loss.

DETROIT AND WASHINGTON SPLIT TWO...BUNNING WINNER IN WHITEWASH IN OPENER
WAS - 000 000 000 - 0 7 0 (first game)
DET -- 000 001 03X - 4 9 1

WP: Bunning (12-7 3.25)
LP: Leonard (10-9 3.23) Dailey (8th) Aguilera (8th)
HR: (none)
Winning hurler Jim Bunning's fastball was wild and wooly, but it was effective...he blanked the Senators on seven hits with six K's and six BB's...loser Dutch Leonard chunked a solid game and permitted only one run and five hits in his seven innings...Harry Heilmann drove in the winning run in the sixth...Ty Cobb (.338) added two more and Sam Crawford (.312) one in the eighth.

SENATORS AND JOHNSON SMASH TIGERS IN GAME TWO
WAS - 020 040 220 - 10 18 1 (second game)
DET -- 001 000 002 -- 3 6 2

LP: Lary (9-11 3.24) H. Coveleskie (6th) Morris (7th) McLain (8th)
HR: DET - Cobb (5) Gehringer (13)
The Senators blistered Tiger twirlers for eighteen hits to back up Walter Johnson's fine performance...Johnson struck out ten and held Detroit to six hits and three runs...Buddy Myer (.282) delivered four hits and three rbi's and Gary Gaetti (.246), Cecil Travis (.292) and Sam Rice (.278) all had three safeties apiece.

ATHLETICS CRUSH TRIBE WITH BIG INNING TO TAKE GAME ONE
PHA - 000 801 000 - 9 13 1 (first game)
CLE - 001 100 020 - 4 14 1

WP: Hunter (11-9 3.93)

HR: PHA - A. Simmons (6) R. Jackson (9) Campaneris (1) CLE - Doby (15)
Supported by an eight-run rampage Catfish Hunter picked up a win despite being tagged for fourteen hits...the highlight of the game was three homers by the A's in the fourth to spark the win...Al Simmons (.287) cracked in four runs with two hits, while John Henry Lloyd (.328) and Bert Campaneris (.299) had two hits each...Hunter had ten strikeouts.

CLEVELAND REBOUNDS LATE IN SECOND GAME TO DIVIDE THE DOUBLEHEADER
PHA - 002 000 020 - 4 9 0 (second game)
CLE - 000 010 24X - 7 9 1

WP: D. Jones (4-11 2.51)
Save: Mossi 4 (1-1 3.45)
Harder (SP) D. Jones (8th) Mossi (9th)
LP: Grove (12-8 2.90) Fingers (8th)
HR: CLE - Ramirez (5) Easter (10) Colavito (6)
A big eighth frame won it for the Tribe as they got to Lefty Grove and Rollie Fingers, who blew a 4-3 lead...Manny Ramirez (.247) singled in the go-ahead score and in a freak play, Luke Easter (.287) got a home run when RF Bob Johnson had a ball bounce off his head into the rightfield stands...Ramirez and Colavito also left the park...reliever Doug Jones got the win and Don Mossi saved it.

I have some great news...at least for me...and maybe for some of you.

Fidel Montoya is creating me a website and it looks like it will be very well done and pretty soon, too.

I have been trying for a year now to get it done. Thanks to him, it looks like it will finally happen.

This league will be up first...the Alltime Allstar Association.

Sometime in the Spring and in time for OOTPBM 2006, I will have my other two fictional leagues up and running, too. The Federal Baseball Association of Ruthlandia and the United Baseball Association of Tycobbia.

There will be 60 teams in all...12 Major league teams...each ML Team will have a farm team in Class AAAA, Class AAA, Class AA and Class A. Each league will have two subleagues of six teams each. The subleague winners will meet for the overall league title.

So I now will have to create 20 more fictional towns for the countries of Ruthlandia and Tycobbia. I have collected enough new logos for the twenty teams...I will use already produced logos that I found on enuttage's and illeracula's great logo sites. It has been tough lately to get a lot of logos done on the Logos Forum...only a few designers frequent it anymore. So that is why I went looking for already-produced logos. Faroo6 revised several logos for me and did a super job. I got some great logos...great town names and nicknames. I will share them with you when I start that Dynasty Report.

I will continue the Alltime Allstar Association. Next season I will add a few Japanese greats and some more of the great Negro stars. I have really liked doing this Dynasty thread and you seem to like it...I think there are about 25 of you who follow it.

I would appreciate some feedback. Constructive suggestions...your likes and dislikes about the thread...would be helpful and appreciated. I will try to improve it with your help.

LOUIS HAD THE DAY OFF

4-RUN NINTH BY ATHLETICS SEND NY AND RIVERA TO DEFEAT
PHA - 000 001 004 - 5 14 2

PALE HOSE WHIP WASHINGTON IN A CLOSE ENCOUNTER AND PULL A LITTLE CLOSER TO NY
CWS - 000 204 000 - 6 10 1
WAS - 002 000 200 - 4 10 1

WP: Cicotte (17-9 3.99) Peters (7th)
LP: Rogan (1-4 4.14) J. Perry (7th) Blyleven (8th)

COOPER KEEP PHILS IN CHECK...ST. LOUIS EDGES PHILLY IN CRUCIAL GAME
PHI - 200 000 000 - 2 9 0

WP: M. Cooper (12-13 3.24)
LP: C. Simmons (7-9 3.73) Schilling (7th)
HR: PHI - Klein (23)
Philadelphia had a chance to take over first place in the NL, but the free-wheelin' Phillies didn't fare too well against the crafty slants of Mort Cooper...He gave up 9 hits, but spaced them out very efficiently, fanned 9 and walked nobody...Cooper has been solid all year long for the Cardinals...in the fifth the Cards' Joe Medwick (.252) drove in the first run off loser Curt Simmons, Ted Simmons' (.245) triple tied it and little Ossie Smith (.238) singled across the big game winner...Philly's Chuck Klein (.297) was 3-4 and unloaded a 2-run homer in the first...that is all the Phillies got today off Cooper.

Do you think it might be the Year of the White Sox even in OOTPB?

The new site is coming along well. I think it may be finished soon. It sure has been an ordeal for the past year.

As far as the avatar...I just happened to see where you can install it one day when I was clearing out some attachments in my profile area.

Of course, Stan "the Man" Musial is my alltime favorite player. He was great on the field and great off the field. He was a special ballplayer and still a special person...nothing but class and character.

Another AAA Fan

Add my name to the list of those following your Alltime Allstar League. I've really enjoyed reading it and following my favorite team, the White Sox. Maybe this really is their year overall . . . keep up the great work!

Thanks for following it, batted balls. It is always great to get some feedback...good or bad.

Your Sox in the AAA need a little pitching. Billy Pierce, counted on to be one of the aces, has floundered...same thing for Gary Peters. They need more hitting from Frank Thomas and Magglio Ordonez...they were great in the first half of the season and carried the team, but they have had a dropout in the second half of the season...Carlton Fisk had not delivered the offense...Minnie Minoso has had an off year...Dick Lundy, the great Negro shortstop, has not produced, but has the potential to be a superstar...Eddie Collins and Joe Jackson have had real good seasons...Luke Appling has been solid in the field and at bat...to challenge the Yankees, the Pale Hose need more hitting.

They trail by 4.5 games with only 9 games to go...and have to play the tough third place Tigers in 5 of those remaining games...it won't be easy.

Only 4 games on the AAA slate today.

AMERICAN LEAGUE

AL LEADING BRONX BOMBERS FINALLY BREAK 5-GAME LOSING SPELL WITH AN EASY WIN OVER THE FOURTH PLACE ATHLETICS...NEW YORK UPS MARGIN TO 5 GAMES OVER IDLE SECOND PLACE CHISOX...AND EIGHTH PLACE BROWNS GET BY SIXTH PLACE CLEVELAND IN A BATTLE OF THE ALSO RANS

NY'S GUIDRY STEPS UP AND PUTS PHILLY DOWN...PUTS A STOP TO YANKS' 5-GAME LOSING STREAK
PHA - 000 000 001 - 1 9 0
NYY - 300 005 00X - 8 9 1

WP: Guidry (16-7 3.65)
LP: Grove (12-9 3.15) Waddell (6th) Shantz (7th)
HR: (none)
Yankee Ron Guidry rose to the occasion for his 16th win of the season and put an end to the Yanks' long losing skein...the A's were struck with some Louisiana lightning as Guidry whiffed 8 batters and checked them on one run...Bill Dickey (.263) slammed in 3 runs with 2 for 4 and Joe Gordon (.241) and Derek Jeter (.256) rapped in two each and went 2-4 for the game...only Gene Tenace's (.241) ninth-inning home run tainted Guidry's fine outing...New York's magic number is 7...any combination of Yankee wins and White Sox losses that reach that total will give the American League championship to New York and send them to the World Series.

HARDLUCK HURLER MARTINEZ GETS WIN FOR LAST PLACE BROWNS OVER NEXT-TO-LAST TRIBE
CLE - 100 000 000 - 1 7 1
STB- 000 202 10X - 5 9 2

WP: D. Martinez (3-7 2.68)
LP: Score (11-14 2.94) Narleski (8th)
HR: STB - Sisler (9)
Dennis Martinez finally got some run support and picked up one of his few wins this season, despite sporting a sparkling 2.68 ERA...catcher Hank Severeid (.285), filling in capably for the injured Josh Gibson, had 3 hits and 3 rbis, George Sisler (.343) slapped 2 hits, including a fourbagger and Baby Doll Jacobson (.277) tagged a pair of hits and scored twice...Sisler is on a 20-game hit streak...overall Martinez fanned 5 and only walked one...loser Herb Score dropped his sixth straight decision.

ST. LOUIS OUTLASTS PHILADELPHIA IN 19-INNING SPINETINGLER
PHA - 000 010 012 000 000 000 0 - 4 12 2 (19 innings)
STL -- 001 000 030 000 000 000 1 - 5 14 0

WP: Brecheen (6-3 4.42)
Tudor (SP) Worrell (9th) Dean (10th) Paige (13th) Sallee (15th) Cooper (17th) Brecheen (18th)
LP: Simmons (7-10 3.64)
Alexander (SP) Simmons (12th)
HR: PHI - Allen 2 (23) Klein (24) STL - Hafey (12)
It was baseball at its best!!...two top contenders fighting to stay in the redhot NL pennant chase going at it for 19 long and tense innings...and then it was over, when a little-used shortstop with a .040 batting average going into the game, delivered a pinchhit single to win the seemingly endless game...Marty Marion (.077) got a basehit down the third base line to score Ted Simmons, who had doubled. It was only Marion's second hit of the year and first rbi...for seven frames it was a 1-1 draw between starters Pete Alexander of the Phils and John Tudor for the Cards...Philly took a 2-1 lead in the top of the eighth, but Alexander couldn't hold it and St. Louis ripped him for 3 runs to make it 4-2 in the last of the inning...Redbird relief ace, Todd Worrell, couldn't put the Phillies away in the ninth...2 clutch homers by Chuck Klein (.300) and Dick Allen (.243) tied it up again...It was Allen second roundtripper of the game...Alexander stayed around until he tired in the twelfth...Manager Danny Ozark lifted him in favor of Curt Simmons, who is the number 3 man in the starting rotation...Simmons was called in to relieve on two days' rest and was excellent...he hurled 6 strong innings until the ill-fated final one...overall he gave up only 3 hits and the decisive score...St. Louis used 7 pitchers in all with Harry Brecheen cashing in on the win...Brecheen has been a forgotten starter since suffering an arm injury early in the season...He has been relegated to the bullpen.

CINCINNATI WINS NARROW VICTORY OVER BOSTON BRAVES
BSN - 000 000 202 - 4 6 1
CIN - 014 000 00X - 5 11 0

WP: Nolan (4-5 3.33)
LP: Spahn (7-10 2.54) Sain (6th) Bedrosian (8th)
HR: BSN - E. Mathews 2 (17)
Cincy's Dick Nolan almost ran out of gas in the last few innings, but still had enough to hold off the Braves...he permitted 6 hits, struck out 9 and walked no one, but was nailed twice for 2-run homers by Eddie Mathews...Warren Spahn wildness set the stage for the Redlegs to score 4 times in the big four-run third...the Brave lefty walked 3 in the inning...Johnny Bench (.184) and Dave Conception (.267) paced Cincinnati with a pair of hits and 2 rbis each.

New York and Whitey Ford let an early 4-1 lead get away from them against Cleveland...Al Rosen and Jim Thome had pinchhit homers...Rosen's (.206) 3-run smash in the sixth and Thome's (.231) 2-run job in the seventh helped the Indians rebound and win the game...Carlos Baerga (.213) had a perfect 4 for 4 with a pair of rbis...NY had 13 hits, but wasted most of them...Addie Joss had a solid relief effort and earned the victory, yielding one unearned run over the final 4 innings.

TIGERS COMEBACK TWICE TO TAME TOUGH WHITE SOX
CWS- 102 010 002 000 0 - 6 13 3 (13 innings)

LP: Peters (3-6 3.57)
Walsh (SP) Pierce (9th) Thigpen (10th) Faber (11th) Peters (13th)
HR: CWS - Lundy (5)
Detroit battled back twice to finally overcome the White Sox in 13 innings...it was the team's third successive win...Al Kaline (.210) doubled in Charlie Gehringer(.277) with the game-winner...Sam Crawford (.312) had tied it in the ninth with a single off Billy Pierce, who could not finish the Tigers off...The bullpen has been one of Chicago's main shortcomings this season...it was an especially tough loss for the Pale Hose as it cost them a chance to cut NY's lead to 4 games.

A'S HUNTER AND ECKERSLEY COMBINE ON 3-HITTER TO TOP BROWNS
PHA- 200 110 000 - 4 8 0

LP: Garver (10-10 3.86) T. Martinez (8th)
HR: PHA - A. Simmons (7) R. Jackson (10)
It was bad news for the Browns all around...They lost the game and George Sisler (.341), the top hitter in the AL, had his 20-game hitting streak ended...Catfish Hunter notched the win, only gave up 3 hits, but walked 6 in 6+ innings...Dennis Eckersley was perfect, he retired all 7 batters he faced in order to save it. Al Simmons (.291) and Reggie Jackson (.258) homered for the Athletics.

RED SOX STAGE COMEBACK IN ONE-RUN DECISION OVER WASHINGTON
BOS - 000 000 510 - 6 11 0

LP: Leonard (10-10 3.39) Mogridge (8th)
HR: BOS - M. Vaughn (10) Varitek (4)
The Boston bats slumbered for 6 innings against the Senators' knuckleballin' Dutch Leonard, then they awoke and whacked him for 5 runs in the seventh to even it up at 5-all...in the inning Mo Vaughn (.230) tagged a 3-run blast and Jason Varitek (.190) bombed a solo homer...Oscar Charleston (.307) drove across Billy Goodman (.255) to win it in the eighth...6 doubles had given Washington a 5-0 bulge...Sam Rice (.288), Rod Carew (.293) and Gary Gaetti (.246) each hit a pair apiece...Ernie Shore got the call to start, even though it was George Ruth's regular turn on the mound, but Ruth got in the game anyway and was credited with the victory with 3 scoreless frames in relief.

Save: Face 10 (6-2 2.76)
LP: Marichal (14-10 3.40) Lavelle (8th)
HR: NYG - Bonds (28)
Vic Willis and the Pirates needed a win and they got it in a hard-fought encounter with the Giants...Willis had checked NY on a single run and 2 hits until they broke loose with a barrage of 4 hits with two outs in the ninth and almost tied it up...Pie Traynor saved the day when he speared a Freddie Lindstrom smash deep behind third base and threw him out in a close play at first to end the game...Paul Waner (.289) cracked 2 hits, and 2 rbis, the National League number one batter, Pie Traynor (.376) collected 2 hits, scored 2 runs and batted in one and Arky Vaughan walloped 2 hits with an rbi and one score...Barry Bonds (.291) hoisted a 2-run shot in the ninth and tied Ernie Banks of the Cubs for the NL home run leadership with 28 and deadlocked with Cincy's Frank Robinson in the RBI column with 96 each. Roy Face got the final out and his 10th save this season.

PHILS' CARLTON AND SCHMIDT STAR IN NARROW VICTORY OVER CINCINNATI
PHI - 010 000 000 - 1 9 1

WP: Carlton (7-12 4.15)
LP: Donahue (8-15 3.65) Carroll (8th)
HR: PHI - Schmidt (25)
Steve Carlton's W-L record is a not-too-good 7-12 this year, but the Phillies don't care...it is 4-2 in the month of August with a sparkling 2.46 ERA...he has really come through just when they needed it...and they needed him today...he fired a 2-hit shutout and smoked an even dozen Redlegs on strikes and permitted only one base on balls...Cincinnati's Pete Donahue was almost his equal, except for Mike Schmidt's 25th home run in the second inning, the only score of the pressure-packed contest...with the triumph Philadelphia remained close to first place Pittsburgh. trailing by only 2 games with 10 to go.

CARDS BUMP OFF BOSTON BRAVES FOR THIRD IN A ROW...NOW TIED FOR THIRD WITH NY

LP: Glavine (6-13 3.64) McMahon (7th) Garber (8th)
HR: BSN - Leonard (3) Lopez (15) STL - Musial (21)
The Redbirds' Bob Gibson blazed it by the Brave batters for 8 innings, then got slammed for 2 home runs and 4 runs in the ninth, but for the second day in a row, Harry "the Cat" Brecheen salvaged the game...he got the last out for the staggering Gibson with the tying run on second for his 3rd save of the season...Gibson totaled 8 Ks and 4 bases on balls and was responsible for all 4 runs...the balanced St. Louis attack was led by Rogers Hornsby's (.301) 2 for 4 and 2 runs scored and Stan Musial's (.274) 21st roundtripper.

BROOKLYN'S KOUFAX ALMOST PERFECT IN NO-HITTER OVER CUBS
BRO - 010 000 110 - 3 10 0

WP: Koufax (13-8 2.99)
LP: French (3-5 2.67)
HR: BRO - Sheffield (9)
It was a fantastic display of pitching by Sandy Koufax - almost a perfect game - only a hit batsman spoiled his peerless outing...he hit Ryne Sandberg leading off in the first inning and then erased him on a double play...Koufax no-hit Chicago, fanning 5 and walking none...5 Dodgers delivered 2 basehits each, paced by Gary Sheffield (.267), who homered and popped in 2 runs.

My 83-year mother is in the hospital out-of-state and I will be going to help take care of her.

It could be a few weeks before I can continue the Alltime Allstar Association Dynasty Report.

Hope and pray she will get well soon.

Say a prayer for her.

Thanks.
