Many thanks, Yoda.
Wednesday...3 doctors said she would not get any better...and would remain in the state she was...which included hallucinations. Thursday, she suddenly got well and rid of the hallucinations. She was released and sent home. Praise Jesus. Many people were praying for her. Thank you and God bless you. I should be back home Tuesday and will pick up my Alltime Allstar Association Report...may post Wednesday afternoon...definitely Thursday. |

That is great news Eugene!
I'm so glad she is doing better and was released from the hospital. Glad the doctors were wrong in their assumption that she we would not get better. Hopefully all of this is behind her now. |

I just happened to be browsing and your posts looked interesting so I checked them out.
It's great your Mom is doing better, Eugene. I'll say a prayer for her too. I thought my mom had cancer, but the doctor was wrong. I was so thankful to God for that. I know I'm very fortunate to still have her and my dad around. I'm a rookie compared to you in OOTP, but it is obvious you put a lot of heart and effort into your posts and leagues. Thanks for the hard work. I'll be following the league. Echolodge |

HolyCow98 and echolodge,
Thanks you both for the prayers. They are very much appreciated. And thank you both for checking out the Alltime Allstar Association. It is in the last week of the first season and I am excited about the finish. I should get back home by Wednesday. |

ALLTIME ALLSTAR ASSOCIATION
Monday, September 1, 1901 It is Labor Day Monday in the AAA with all teams scheduled to play twinbills. Pitching corps will be stressed to the limits because of back-to-back doubleheaders yesterday and today. With both pennant races going down to the wire, pitching rotations could be crucial for the contending ballclubs. Most clubs will have to go into the bullpen for a rested starter. The deep staffs will have an advantage over the last seven games of the season. In the tense NL title chase, first place Pittsburgh will send Jess Tannehill (9-10) and Vic Willis (9-10) up against two tough Dodger hurlers, Bulldog Hershiser (8-9) and Sandy Koufax (12-8) at Ebbets Field. Fifth place Brooklyn has an edge here. It could be a rough series for the Pirates as they might have to face Dazzy Vance (18-6) in the finale of the 4-game set with second line pitching. Second place Philadelphia, trailing by one game, really has a tough task with the fourth place Cardinals at the Vet. St. Louis has its aces ready with John Tudor (13-5) and Bob Gibson (14-8) set to pitch against the Phils' Steve Carlton (6-12) and Curt Simmons (7-10) . None of Philadelphia frontline pitchers will be available until the third game of the series. Pete Alexander (18-7) is scheduled for that game. The Redbirds are four games behind the NL leaders. The third place New York Giants, currently 3 games out, will be at home at the Polo Grounds. They will tangle with the well-rested Chicago Cubs, who will have Mordecai Brown (19-9) and Larry French (3-4) ready for duty. Gaylord Perry (7-13) and Juan Marichal (14-9) will try to keep NY in the race. The Giants will also have to face Fergie Jenkins (15-10) and Lon Warneke (5-5) in games three and four. Freddie Fitzsimmons (0-2) and Carl Hubbell (14-10) will be slated to oppose them. Over in the American League, it is down to just two teams, the number one club, the slumping New York Yankees and the suddenly revived Chicago White Sox. The Bombers have dropped 8 of their last 10, while the second place Pale Hose have taken 6 of 10 to narrow the lead to just 3 games with 7 games to be played. Herb Pennock (6-6) and Ron Guidry (16-7) are pitted against the solid Philadelphia A's, who are finally playing up to their pre-season expectations. They have been one of the best clubs over the last half of the year. The Athletics will counter with Bobby Shantz (1-6) and Lefty Grove (12-9). Whitey Ford (14-10) and Goofy Gomez (15-10) will get the call in the last two games of the series at Shibe Park. It looks like Catfish Hunter (12-9) and Rube Waddell (8-9) will be going for Philly. At Comiskey Park the White Sox will play host to the seventh place Senators. Joe Horlen (14-8) and Gary Peters (3-6) are slated to be on the hill for Chicago and opposed by Firpo Marberry (4-7) and Jim Perry (5-7). Ed Walsh (11-9) and Wilbur Wood (14-10) might be the starters in games three and four with Dutch Leonard (10-10) and Walter Johnson (9-16) on the mound for the Capitol City club. Second line pitching could decide who goes to the World Series. Last edited by Eugene Church; 01-31-2006 at 09:48 AM. |

Pittsburgh and NY in the playoffs. That's my prediction. 2 and 3 games are just too much to overcome right this late in the season.

Yeah, the odds are with you.
I think the Yanks will win, but the Pirates have to play the Brooklyn Dodgers twice and the New York Giants three times in the last 5. They will have to face Dazzy Vance (18-6) and Don Sutton (13-9). Then go up against Carl Hubbell (14-9), Christy Mathewson (14-12) and Juan Marichal (14-10). Manager John McGraw might pitch lesser pitchers against the Cubs in the last two games of that series, hope he gets a couple of wins and save his Big 3 for the Pirates. He might also try to get two games out of either Hubbell or Mathewson. The Phils are hoping the Giants sweep the Bucs. Then they might sneak into the World Series. Philadelphia has Pete Alexander (18-7), Chris Short (5-3 2.24)), Robin Roberts (15-8) and Alexander again in their expected rotation. So they look solid...plus they close out against the Cardinals for two games and the last place Reds in the last 3 games. Mort Cooper (12-14) and Larry Jackson (5-5) will probably be on the mound for St. Louis against the Phils. Smokey Joe Williams (5-10) and Eppa Rixey (10-6) might go for Cincy. The Reds are just trying to get the long season over. They may give some of their other pitchers the end-of-the-season starts, just to see what they might do, looking forward to next year. The battle for the top hitter in the AAA is going down to the wire in the American League. It has been decided for quite some time in the National as Pie Traynor of the Pirates has a 50 point lead. He is a cinch to take it with a .367 average going into the last 4 games of the season. Bill Terry of the Giants and Zach Wheat of the Dodgers are a very distant second with .316 batting averages.
Only one point separates the top 3 hitters in the American League. Joe Jackson of Chicago and George Sisler of St. Louis are tied at .336 with Ty Cobb of Detroit at .335 in third place. Cobb is ahead in hits with 204. Sisler and Jackson come in with 202 and 199 respectively. Hank Greenberg of Detroit has 50 doubles, 4 ahead of the A's Al Simmons. Cobb is easily the triples winner with 14, 5 in front of his runner-ups. Babe Ruth of the Yanks is tops in home runs with 34, up by 2 over Frank Thomas of Chicago. Lou Gehrig of NY has a comfortable lead in rbis over Hank Greenberg, 113 to 107. Frank Thomas has 106. Greenberg is number one in runs scored, 107 to 100 over Cobb. Cobb has 67 stolen bases to Athletics' Rickey Henderson's 63. In base on balls Ruth is in front of the Bosox Ted Williams 92 to 86. In the pitching categories Ed Cicotte of Chicago has 18 wins, one up on Ron Guidry of New York. Mariano Rivera leads in saves 14 to 11 over Boston's Dick Radatz and Chicago's Bobby Thigpen. Bob Feller of Cleveland leads his teammate Herb Score in strikeouts, 205 to 186. The ERA leaders are Vida Blue of Philadelphia with 2.54, Score 2.83 and Lefty Gomez of the Yanks at 2.84. The one with the most hits in the National League is Barry Bonds of the Giants with 199. Chick Hafey of St. Louis and Zach Wheat of Brooklyn trail with 193 and 192. The doubles leader in the NL is the Cards' Chick Hafey with 52 to Wheat's 46. In triples Honus Wagner of Pittsburgh and Barry Bonds of NY are deadlocked with 15 each. Ernie Banks of the Cubs is the NL HR leader with 31 to Bonds 29 and the Phillies' Chuck Klein's 27. Bonds is at the top in rbis with 98. Frank Robinson of Cincy and Klein have driven in 96 apiece. Bonds is number one in runs with 96. In second are Stan Musial of St. Louis and Wheat with 90 each. Jackie Robinson of the Dodgers is the best basestealer with a 32 to 29 margin over Rafael Furcal of the Braves. Bond is far and away the best at getting walked. He has 89 on the year. Mel Ott of the Giants and Mike Schmidt of Philadelphia have only 59 each. In the pitching categories in the National League, Brooklyn's Dazzy Vance and the Cubs' Mordecai Brown each have 19 victories, one more than the Phils' Pete Alexander. In the saves department, it is a three-way tussle. Rob Nen of New York and Roy Face of the Pirates are tied for first with 9. Todd Worrell of the Cardinals is one back with 8. Sandy Koufax of the Dodgers leads in strikeouts, 190 to 178 over his teammate Dazzy Vance. Pete Alexander of the Phils is the best with a 2.24 ERA, followed by the Giants' Carl Hubbell at 2.34 and Mordecai Brown of Chicago at 2.49. I just wanted to give special thanks to everyone who has provided their skills to get my EC's Dream Leagues website up and running.
First of all to F. Montoya, who did an excellent job creating the website. Special thanks to him, too, for training me to manage it. That was the worst part of the job as I am computer-challenged. But he is a very fine and very patient teacher and got me through it. Very special thanks to Henry (BigCity) and Teflon Skies for the great stadiums. Very special thanks to pepeda for the fine EC's Dream Leagues banner...sorry we had to chop it up to make it fit on the new site...the original was really gorgeous. Very special thanks to dbacks for the fine Alltime Allstar Association banner. Very special thanks to knuckler for his excellent logos. He did all of them except for the NY Yankees...Shub did a fine job on that one. And thanks to you guys, who keeping checking out this Dynasty Report. I appreciate all of you very much. |
