Not so sure about the A's. The 1988 or 89 A's were bounced in the 1st round in an earlier group. I would hope at least 1 from that A's era would advance.

The Marlins are on the bubble, #14 seeds are far from a guarantee to get to round 2. They need some big performances.

Why root against the '93 Phillies? Why, they beat the Braves in the NLCS that year! Pretty much why I went against the '97 Marlins, though that NLCS should be brought back into the limelight and redone. That strike zone in Game 5 was horrrrrrrible.

Glad to see I was wrong on all 3 of my predictions.

I thought they were good too. But when McGwire and Canseco hit less homers combined(33) then Lou Gehrig by himself, I guess that spells doom for them.
