USBF Ancestor Points Standings

As I stated in the USBF main thread, I was going to come up with a side game that gives board members points for how well their ancestors do. It's just a little something to maybe generate some more interest in the league.

Points can be accumulated in the following manner:

For hitters:

Single Season:
30 homerun season (3 pts)
40 stolen base season (3 pts)
100 RBI season (3 pts)
.300 batting average (3 pts)
100 runs scored (3 pts)
Leading league in runs, rbi, hr, avg, or sb (5 pts)
Gold Glove (5 pts)
All-star (5 pts)
Rookie of the Year (7 pts)
Batter of the Year (10 pts)
MVP (10 pts)
Pennant winning team (10 pts)
Championship (15 pts)
World Championship MVP (25 pts)

Career:
300 homeruns (20 pts)
400 homeruns (30 pts)
500 homeruns (40 pts)
*10 points for each additional 100 homeruns over 500*
1000 RBI (20 pts)
1250 RBI (30 pts)
1500 RBI (40 pts)
*10 points for each additonal 250 RBI over 500*
.290 average (20 pts)
.300 average (30 pts)
.310 average (40 pts)
*10 points for each additonal .10 batting average over .310*
2000 hits (20 pts)
2500 hits (30 pts)
3000 hits (40 pts)
*10 points for each additional 100 hits over 3000*
400 SB's (20 pts)
600 SB's (30 pts)
800 SB's (40 pts)
*10 points for each additonal 100 SB's over 800*
HALL OF FAME (100 points)

For Pitchers:

Single Season:
30 saves (3 pts)
15 wins (3 pts)
200 K's (3 pts)
ERA under 3.5 (3 pts)
20 wins (5 pts)
Leading league in wins, k's, cg, shutouts, saves or era (5 pts)
All-Star (5 pts)
Rookie of the Year (7 pts)
Pitcher of the Year (10 pts)
Gold Glove (10 pts)
MVP (10 pts)
Pennant Winning Team (10 pts)
Championship Team (15 pts)
Championship MVP (25 pts)

Career:
200 wins (20 pts)
250 wins (30 pts)
300 wins (40 pts)
*10 points for each additonal 25 wins over 300*
3.75 ERA (20 pts)
3.25 ERA (30 pts)
2.75 ERA (40 pts)
*10 points for each additional .25 under 2.75)*
2500 K's (20 pts)
3000 K's (30 pts)
3500 K's (40 pts)
*10 points for each additional 250 K's over 3500*
300 saves (20 pts)
400 saves (30 pts)
500 saves (40 pts)
*10 points for each additional 50 saves over 500*
HALL OF FAME (200 points)

Obviously since there hasn't been the first ammy draft yet, the standings won't start until next season but I wanted to get this out there as an outline for people to look at and to possibly get some discussion going.

Let me know if you think things should be tweaked, added, removed, etc.

Once 1901 starts, the standings will be posted in this thread after every season.

Cool idea!!

Quick question, what is the difference between Batter of the Year and MVP?
Also any points for Rookie of the Year?

Ahh, forgot about ROY, will add that in. Batter of the Year is the batter who has the best offensive season basically, it will be who the game picks. MVP, will be voted on by the board members and could theoretically be a pitcher. I'm gonna let the game select Gold Gloves, Batter of the Year, Pitcher of the Year, and Rookie of the Year. The MVP I was hoping I could get enough participation to have the forum vote (it would have to be quick though, like a 24 hour time table because I'd like to move fairly quickly). Also Manager of the Year could be put to board vote as well.

Hall of Fame will surely be a board vote.

Just a friendly bump to show that I've made a few additions which are highlighted in blue.
