Just a quick note:
First, Bob Bussmann was supposed to be on last yr's ballot but I left him off. John, and I think JT, has chronicled some of his story - being screwed by the Sox early in his career. But man, that 65% winning % is pretty impressive. And you may or may not remember Dan Troge, but he took over as Cubs 1B when Cookie Parrish left with the illness that eventually killed him. He helped lead the town & the team to the glory of 3 straight pennants before being the *first* major league to enlist right after Pearl Harbor. He lost a lot of his prime years to the war, but he was (and is) much-loved in the Windy City. After retiring, he returned to the military as a pilot & flew missions in Korea. What a cool guy he was, and a patriot. EDIT: And I still say Mosich looks like Robert DeNiro.

Leonard "Sunny" Davie
Dewey Mickelson Troy Kinnear Jimmy Ditty Art Booth I'm not sure why I should care that Troge re-enlisted to fight in Korea after he retired. Sure, it's nice that he did that for his country, but it doesn't add or take away from anything he did on the field, unlike his time spent in WWII. I suppose it would make me feel better about him as a person and that would influence voters in real life, but it's hard for me to make that jump in a SIM league about a player I really didn't care too much about in the first place.

Kinnear Arkless Breckenridge Schukraft Booth Bowden Martin Ditty Hung My last vote was a very tough battle betw Hung, Skjerly & Mickelsen. Hung had the excellent AVG plus R and SB. Skjerly all the WS. And Mickelsen was all over the offensive leaderboards.

Something to add to Jimmy Ditty....even though it looks like he's getting the support.
Not only did he go to WWII for 4 years, but he left at 29 and came back at 33.....years certain to be his peak. I think you can honestly pit him down for an average of .300 AVG, 165 Hits, 30 2b, 4 3b, 30 HR, 100 RBI and 90 Runs in each those years That would put him at nearly 3000 Hits, 500 2b, 65 3b, 420 HR, 1750 RBI and 1540 Runs. ....and don't forget, he married Marilyn Monroe. Are there Mr. Coffee commercials in his future? ![]()
