Downloading a game
Hey, I was just wondering if anyone could help me out with this problem I am having. I have OOTP 9 and I want to download an online league to my game, it is version 6.5. I got the file from the internet and downloaded it to my computer, however, when I try to install it onto my game I get an error message that says:
"League Import Failed - can only import OOTP 6/6.5 leagues which are on opening day! Also if this is an online league, clear the password from within OOTP 6 first!" I don't really know how to solve this issue. The online league is in the offseason now, do I really have to wait until opening day for it to work? Any comments would be appreciated. |

To play a OOTP6.5 league you need OOTP6.5, not OOTP9. Unlike OOTP5, OOTP6.5 is not free.

By "importing" a league of a previous version it will convert it into an OOTP9 league. If the online league is simulating the league with OOTP6.5 then you will need OOTP6.5 to import/export. OOTP9 will not import/export with non-OOTP9 leagues. That is, it is not backwards compatible like that.

If you do decide to get OOTP6.5 to play in that league, note that you'll need to buy both OOTP6 and its expansion OOTP6.5. Since you already have OOTP9, it may be preferrable just to find an OOTP9 league to play in.

I'm sure you can find a league that suits your tastes. Since you found that other league you probably know about the online leagues board, but a trip to the IOLD (link in my sig) might help some too.
