Every time I go to the admin page it appends a new '\' to my SQL Folder Path... so that I end up with \\\\\\\\\nawinfs03\\\\\\\\\home\\\\\\\\\etc...

Anyone have an idea what that would happen?

As always... make a backup of the OOTP league in question and then click the "dump all players into an inaugural draft" button.

Then make all the neccesary SQL file dumps and import them into StatsLab. Start messing around with the Draft in StatsLab and you'll notice that the same players in your inaugural draft in OOTP are also in the StatsLab draft pool.

Hey guys, I'm trying to help someone set up StatsLab for his league. I don't know what I'm missing but I have to have forgotten something.

Here's a link to the login page with the warnings - OOTP SQL Utilites Login Page - StatsLab for OOTPX

Any help is appreciated. I'm just fried right now and can't figure out what (likely simple) mistake I've made. The settings seem right in the install.php

Game -> Game Setup
League Setup

It's the third option down the listed buttons on the right... labeled:
"Release all players & schedule inaugural draft"

i see, i'm attempting to just put the current free agents (we contracted) into the inaugural draft, not release all the players and then dump them.

Yeah... you're gonna have to run that draft manually on a forum or something.
There is no way (that I know of) to tell the OOTP engine to set up a draft for the remaining teams to participate in using the released players from contracted teams. AND since the OOTP engine can't setup that kind of draft... then StatsLab is not going to have any way to set up a draft like that unless you start editing MySQL files ... A LOT! That's a bunch of work that seems like more than it's worth to me. Since you don't have that many rounds worth of players to worry about... I would just set up a 3 to 5 round draft... start taking lists from your remaining teams managers, and knock that out in a weekend.

Well, created my own settingsSQL.text and dbopen.php files and no longer have the error messages that I once had but I can't get the SQLs to load.

thats what i figured, just thought i'd see if there was a way to run it through statslab and make my life easier. Forum based should be too difficult.

Forum based for just a few rounds won't be that bad. You could always do a live chat session for 3 rounds too and accept lists for people that can't be there. Back in the days of OOTP 4, 5, and 6.5 that is how we always had to do it in the CDBL and BCBL and it was a 2-3 hour process sometimes, we'd give each manager a 2 minute timer. And then had a couple helpers to work 3 or 4 lists from other managers. Manning more than 4 lists becomes a lot of work. AND you could give the guys manning the list an extra minute or two when it's their teams pick, since they are working overtime.

It's a lot of work, but it also was cool to have 12-15 managers from the league hanging out in a chatroom for a few hours.

I have found that using StatsLab for an Inaugural Draft is not as clear cut and dry as an AMMY DRAFT. Basically the draft will not begin when you want it to, it will simply begin the next day. It completely ignores any date you set as the start date. It also will not allow the use of that Serpentine check box feature.

Basically the only way I was able to get the draft date for each pick the way I wanted AND to Serpentine the even numbered rounds.... I had to manually edit the files inside of MySQL. Well I imported them into MS Excel then exported them out to a CSV file, and then imported that back into MySQL. It was crude and cumbersome, but it looks like our Inaugural Draft is set to start on Wednesday.

Anyone else use StatsLab for an Inaugural Draft and have a different experience. Just want to know if I am crazy or not.

Error When updating player development

Guys,

I get an error when I try to update player development. The same error is repeated again and again.

"Unknown column 'pitching_ratings_misc_ground_fly' in 'field list' "

Which then ends with the following error:

"Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/majorlea/public_html/utility/gen_functions.php on line 38"

Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Joe

Has anyone successfully installed StatsLab on a MS-Windows Server 2003 OS?

All my experience in MySQL based stuff is with a Linux based OS. I'm wondering if there are tricks with Win Server 2003 I need to know.

Dang, was hoping this would be in the new patch. Oh well, still an amazing utility and great service. Thank you very much for your efforts!

Just wanted to say that I installed Statslab for the first time and must admit, it is pretty cool. Although I set it up for my personal use and for fun, I decided to share the video of my installation process. It turns out that there are a lot of steps but it is definitely easier than the instructions make it seem. (Not that I could do any better at writing instructions)

Anyway, take a look...
