Upated database for Final patch and FINAL update to GamboDB

This is a 2-part post so be sure to read the bottom part too...

First, I have finished up my database for when the final patch is released. Everything is ready to go and I am just waiting for the patch to be released so I can run a couple of tests to make sure everything works right. I will post it when it is ready.

Since I've had some time waiting for the patch to be released I have made two major changes with this release, thanks to Spritze.

1) I have added in an addtional 520+ players who are in Sprinze's database. This consists of Japanese players, Negro Leaguers and Career Minor league guys. This gives the database more depth, especially in the 1930s-1950s.
2) Updated the career fielding ratng information using Spritzes fielding information. I had hated that if you used career fielding information that the positions the payers were rated at was not complete. E.g. Danny Tartabull, Gary Sheffield etc came into the league as infielders but the game will not import them with ratings for that. I wanted to do something about that, but LO and BEHOLD. Spritze had already done it and tweaked much of the data.
I loved the results and decided to implement it.

Second of all,

Unless there is a major flaw in the database. This will be the last version of the GamboDB I will do. With twin year olds and a busy job I dont have any desire to put in the time to update and fix up the database any more. I just want to enjoy my kids and the game (and some others) The database has gotten to a point where I'm satisfied with it. Taking it to the next level of satisfaction would be too much.

Spritze's database work and abilities are closer to going the place I want my database to go than so I hope to work with him on updating his database but this will be the last one with my name as the major person.

I looked it breifly over and I must ask a question

In all Master.csv files I found a player named Trey Hillman
obviously a minor leaguers with the ID hillmtr99m

Why can´t I find him in any batter,pitcher,fielder csv-file.
How will he come into the game ????

I understand that the master(mlb),csv makes players like Ichiro Suzuki drop into the league 2001 not in the early 1990´s and that the master.csv will bring in Suzuki, Irabu, Kuroda very early in their career, when they played in Japan.

However this Trey Hillman and the rest of the ID xxx99m is a question.

PS Never mind I guess all these guys are just as Hillman only managers and they could be left alone.

I am trying to get a 1969 league started using the DB but the game crashes during the import. i was trying last night (3 times) so i don't have what ever error it gave me, i'll run it again and see what it was.

I have not had any problems with you other DB's in the past so i wonder if it's just me.

i have tried various import settings with the same result.
i guess i'll try 68 & 70 for fun

I've been having the same issues with other years as well. It usually gets to anywhere from 40 to 45 percent before crashing.

I tried importing 1969 also, same problem. Crashes at 42%.

No problem without the complete history, but crash with the complete history like the other at 42%.

As the database gets larger the crash seems to come alot earlier. One tip I can definitely give you guys is go ahead and open the batting2.csv in notebook (backup first of course) and go ahead and delete up to about 20 years prior to your import.

E.G. if your importing 1969...open batting2.csv in notebook and delete until you get to 1949 (the first player idea that says 1949 after the 1st comma)

If that still doesn't get it to import (it will probably be quicker this way anyway) let me know.
