supressing previous stats when importing a player

I am importing a series of individual historical players into my fictional universe. Is there a setting that will ensure that their stats from years previous to the one i'm importing them in don't count in their stats in my league?

Hopefully I've just missed something straightforward.

If you use remaining years and do not mark Keep players stats then they should not. I have not had a player import with stats listed prior to the year I import him in awhile. are you having this issue? Post the players stats and your import options.
