Script fonts?
Does anybody know where to get any free script fonts? I mean in the style of the Dodgers or Tigers, something to put across the jersey.
I know I've seen some before, but they weren't free, and I don't even remember the site now, anyway. |

I have not been able to find fonts like you're looking for for free. I would also really like to have some good script fonts with the classic underline using the letter. I remember reds1 using one once, but I think he paid for it.

There's ballpark wiener:
http://www.dafont.com/font.php?file=ballpark_weiner And Marcelle: http://www.dafont.com/marcelle.font Marcelle is made to look like it's older, so it's a bit fuzzy as you can see, but if you combine it with the font above, you can do a pretty good script. If you use the right swash, it's not all that noticible on the facegen screens. |

Also Team Spirit works pretty well with a little judicious graphics manipulation.

Alright, I'm something of a font junkie, so here's what I know:
Commercial: Jukebox Fonts puts out "Fenway Park", which is probably the closest you'll find to the script fonts used in MLB, but it lacks the "swashes" that go under the team name. Letterhead Fonts has a few (LHF Ballpark, LHF Ephemera, LHF Pilsener). The nice thing about those is they also feature "swash" fonts, which you can combine with Fenway Park for some really good-looking stuff. Free: Mickey Rossi's "Ballpark Weiner" is easily the best freeware font of its kind. I have made a bunch of fonts, as well, although they're mostly designed to be player nameplates & numbers, but a few are usable for wordmarks, as well. |

Thanks. It's a re-creation (admittedly incomplete) of this proprietary font by the legendary Dennis Ortiz-Lopez. Glad you like it!
