Baseball card templates request (NOT OOTP 11 baseball cards)

I'm getting a little better at my desktop publishing skills, but I match the skills I've seen here in the past few years. One thing I really want to do is develop my own templates for baseball cards. I'm a big fan of the Topps layouts from 1973, 1978, 1980-1987.

Since I don't have my own, and I think other people would be interested to, I'd like to make this thread into a showcase for baseball card templates.

Found a word template on the HP website for 1980. Used ArcSoft PhotoStudio to do the rest.

Talking

This thread is sorely missing posts.

Although it's really off topic for this forum. But I love this idea, some of the card designs of the past were fantastic. I had done some work a few years ago for my favorite designs of the 1980s. They are all originally Photoshop layer templates, I just underlay the photo and change the colors and text involved.

My 1987 Topps was the first, so it is the weakest design. For the later designs, I was measuring the card elements to the millimeter to recreate accurately.

I have done:
1985 Donruss
1985 Fleer
1985 Topps

1986 Donruss

1987 Donruss
1987 Topps (not measured out)

1988 Score

1989 Upper Deck

Ones like 1986 Topps would be very hard to do, because to make it effective, you have to create your own font for the hideous lettering they had for team names.

Here's a handful of White Sox ones I did a couple years ago - they're a mix of scanned cards and some Photoshopped elements, so they're not quite universal. (click on them for the full-sized pictures):

I can try and dig up the Photoshop files, if anybody would be interested. They're all

I would love to have those files if possible. You can email me if you find them.

Any chance I could get the files? I would be especially interested in 59, 68, and 72 Topps if they are photoshop files. They are classics! My email is Gregoryk@gmail.com

Thanks!

I'd like to see it kept alive as well. It always ticks me off though when I think about all of the baseball cards I had as a kid and ended up losing when my grandmother's house burned down. I bet I had every card from the 54 season clear until the 65 season and then I had a number of later ones. Ah well.
Personally, I preferred the older Topps cards but then that is all there was back then. I also liked the gum that came with them!! What happened to the bubblegum?

Yep, I go way back with the gum all right and everything else. Cards were a nickel a pack and had plenty of cards in them as well as the bubblegum. That definitely a long time ago. Oh well, we all get old after a while, unfortunately.

I created a Photoshop template for the 1981 Topps cards.. The first is one I re-created, the 2nd one is the original.

I meant for this to be used with the facegen pics from the game, and the size of these cars is basically twice the size of the in game pictures.. I can also provide a larger template probably if needed.

Here's a 1959 Topps Template..

The 1st pic is the original, the 2nd is one with this template, and the 3rd is..well.. Mr Potatohead...

The font isnt exactly right, but wanted to make sure that it can be easily edited, too..

Nice. I remember that year's cards. They were of varying colors, if I remember correctly although don't know if there was a particular color for a particular team or just randomized. Anyway, nice job with your template. Certainly brings back memories to me.

I would really like to make my son an authentic looking astros card. If anyone has a template could you please email it. I especially like the mid 1970s or the newer cards. Thanks!

Are his stats on the back accurate? Do you have his birthdate included?
