falkon, I use photoshop to design the jerseys. I've used a modification of Deft's uniform template that includes some of my vintage jerseys as well as acetonic's work. I've somehow gotten away from using the jersey template feature in the game, probably in main part for it taking a while to update my changes after switching styles and colors.
As for fonts and logos, I am trying to recreate some historical jerseys so I'd say about 60-75% of what I'm adding to them are pulled from the internet, resized, touched up and put into place. For example, I had to design Oakland's 1920's jersey by hand but the blue 1930's script "Oaks" was edited from a team photo I had found. For me it depends on how authentic I want or can be, or how ambitious I am. Most times that's dictated by the references I use and time, because it does take a lot of it, even though in the end the jerseys and hats are "easy and quick." Some of the fonts I've used are: Yoru_akari (Baltimore, IL), Athletic (Seattle, PCL), Pointedly Mad (Mission, PCL), BN Pinky Bold (Portland Beavers, PCL), Sports Jersey, Old English and variants, and other more common fonts. Forum member cephasjames has a font thread in which he names other fonts. Read that here.

Pep,
I really like how the backgrounds came out in those last "fun" ones. I was wondering if you could share those and if you would be interested in doing a few with a foreign flavor? For example, a Cuban one could have Havana Cigars instead of Cracker Jacks in the background. I could offer some help with images if that helps you out. dcc

For those of you interested, are there any other graphical elements (backgrounds, menus, etc) that I should alter to a more 19th, early 20th century feel and pack up to release? I need a kick in the pants so it doesn't look like I'm holding out
![]() As far as the minor league uniforms go, I've only done the higher level minors so far. I plan to release them as part of a quickstart/template but my efforts to get the universe where I want it in terms of settings has been lagging. Would any of you just prefer the uniforms, uniforms with a rudimentary setup, or wait until I have something more refined and complete? Any comments and suggestions are welcome! |

No Pepper, the uniforms and backgrounds look terrific. I'd love to use them for my solo deadball-era league if they become available. Thanks for your hard work.

These are awesome! If I can make a request, I'd love to see the Southern Association jerseys done next, if you are still planning on expanding into other minor leagues.
Very cool. EDIT: Also, for this quickstart, do you have minor league ballpark data that you're using? I've got some stuff, but my database is fairly incomplete prior to the 20's in terms of minor leagues. EDIT2: If you do decide to expand and do the SA, here's some dirty work for you, some better than others. I attempted to make some unis for the SA last week, and these are a couple links I have saved. Birmingham Barons - http://www.birminghamprosports.com/index.html (link on left side of page) Little Rock Travelers - http://www.ark-ives.com/photo/gallery/travelers.asp; http://encyclopediaofarkansas.net/en...x?mediaID=3828 New Orleans Pelicans - http://www.neworleansbaseball.com/al...258fef95ebd8a0 Last edited by sbrylski; 10-29-2007 at 11:08 PM. |

sbrylski, thanks for the links. I'm not sure when I'll get to the SA quite yet. It seems I'll release what I have done now and just the uniforms etc. A quickstart is probably left for others to pursue, so to answer your other question about minor league ballparks, no, I'm not using any data at this point.

In case anyone wants to use these now (I'll release a more complete set later), here are some facegen backgrounds and a menu for an early baseball feel to your game. Again, any suggestions for additional content is welcome!
@dcpcarmona...I haven't found a Cuban background like the Cracker Jack card that I'm happy with yet.

No Pepper - Your work has always been fantastic. These latest backgrounds and menu graphics you have posted really add to an historical league. Thanks a lot for your efforts.
If I can figure out any html image piece to ask you to update to the "old-time" feel, I will post the request.

Thanks for the kind words Rgarz. I'm real close to releasing the jerseys. Just a few organizational things and a readme.txt to write for everything to make sense. Gotta hear back from my beta testers
![]() @sbrylski: I forgot to mention Cooleyvol's SA uniform set of the 1940's and 1950's which can be found here: http://web.mac.com/sixwilsons/OOTPMods/FaceGen_1.html |
