When I download the files (download button) I get the files as .ps not as an .esp file.

.eps is an encapsulated postscript file. It was used in Adobe Illustrator. It can be opened and modified in the GIMP. I have converted the files with Irfanview, although that required a plugin to be downloaded.

EPS files can be opened with Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro. These files have optional attributes, such as transparent backgrounds. The main advantage to these files is you can change the resolution from the default 72 dpi so you will have clean resized images.
Boon, change the .ps to .eps and they should open. |

Figured it out. Worked great. I was most interested in the Mexican League logos as the last time I was making this league in circular, I was dealing with small logo files. Thanks!!

EPS files are vector images (as opposed to razerized images). Meaning... EPS files have NO pixels inherently UNLESS a razerized (pixel) image is embeded in the EPS.
I work in a shop that prints larger graphics (like on 4x8 sheets of plywood and plastic) so working with vectorized graphics is important so that pixelation is minimalized one the file is rasterized (ripped) to 72-300 dpi. If you work with files in adobe illustrator... an EPS file will keep any vector information in tact. As soon as you open a file in photoshop or PaintShopPro... you the vector has to be converted a razerized (pixel) image at some user detirmine dpi setting. |

I find it amazing that MLB is releasing the EPS versions of THAT much logo work to the general public. Even event logos are on there!
Awesome find and great link. Kudos to you, Raidergoo. |

Speaking of eps files....I found a site that says it has over 80,000 vector logos. I would try to describe it, but just saw it today. Corporate logos, sports, etc.
Over 81,944 Vector Logos, Vectorized Brands, Logotypes all free for download in EPS format Last edited by truthserum; 04-03-2008 at 02:15 PM. |

I came back to this link... looking for the MLB logos again.
Why? It appears that the MLB has since understood that giving EPS versions of everything out freely is not a smart idea. They now require pressbox user authentication. So thank you for the link to this other site, Truthy. |

ESPN has a branding site containing alot of their logos in eps and jpg formats that some might find a use for. There are logos for the World Baseball Classic under 'Events' for example.
