My Fictional League--Logos and Uniforms

Here's my ficitional league....I call it Northern Union Baseball. I used real city and fictional team names. The change I made was to move Anaheim (Los Angeles) to Mexico City. I post these up in case someone is looking for a quick way to set up a fictional league and get to the playing. I haven't even finished up all the logos and uniforms cuz I wanted to get to the playing, so I can understand how frustrating it can be to try and get the logo and uniform aspect part of the game, set up. Some of the logos I have made up before, with requests but I liked them, so I used them.

I have all the Union League (AL) complete and most of the Northern League (NL) completed. I am working on getting them uploaded onto my photobucket and they are located in the "Fictional Logos" link in my sig. I'll include a logo, uniform, made with Deft's template, and a cap template, instead of just a cap logo, to make it easy to load the same cap I am using. I'll also include the RGB numbers to get the same colors into the game.

Here's the league logo....

When I first started making the logos, I wanted to include the team name in the logo, but when I loaded them up in the game, they tended to be blurry and I couldn't really see the logo. This aspect helped shape how I was going to make the logos. I still included team names in some of them, but they are still a little blurry in the game. What I went for is something plain, detail blurs which is good for me anyway, cuz I'm not an artist. I'll post up two logos for the Mexico City Vaqueros to show how I was going to do the logos and how I changed it up.

I was also going for color in the logos and uniforms, some tend to be an unusual color combo that you wouldn't normally see in uniforms. I tried to not make all the logos with red, blue and black, but it is sometimes hard to stay away from those 3 colors.

The jersey and caps will have to be renamed. I named them "Mexico_City_Vaquerosjersey" so they would show up in order with the logo, in photobucket. The caps will have to be renamed "caps_Mexico_City_Vaqueros".

Here's the UL West....

Mexico City Vaqueros
Oakland Bloods
Seattle Shipmen
Texas Lone Stars

ba-dum-ch. Thanks No Pepper.

Here's the UL Central...This set is kind of bland. I never got the Fire right or the Fear. The Kansas City one with the name on top and bottom, I like, but is a tad blurry in-game. I tried the name within the logo, but that didn't look right either. Couple that with a blah uniform and I picked another team to run.

Chicago Fire
Cleveland Foresters
Detroit Unions
Kansas City Fear
Minnesota Snow

These have to be among some of the most creative fictional uniforms I've seen in a while. Great job!

Thanks for the compliment.

I like the look of jazzing up the jersey script with the logo included. Just trying not to do it that way to all of them.

I think I have the same font that you used for Minnesota. I've been trying to figure out a good way of using it. Looks like you did. These look great.

Thanks justa. It's been fun to make something for myself, for a change.

Here's a division of logos and jerseys that I like. I like the Cattle logo. The Aztecas jersey could be my favorite jersey of all that I made. I like the color and I like how the logo came out. I, initially, struggled with coming up with a good Bays logo and I like how that one turned out. I also like the color of the Strip jersey. I post 2 Strip logos cuz 2 I wasn't sure if the original would be too blurry, in-game. Original came out ok.

Here's the Northern League (NL) West.

Arizona Rising Phoenix
Colorado Cattle
Los Angeles Strip
San Diego Aztecas
San Francisco Bays

Red: ec0400

Here here, I just love the logo work. I gotta get a hang of vector graphics. I got the program but just no time to sit down and learn.

Actually, I am just using Photoshop cs2 and then cleaning them up with vector magic.

**edit**

If I start with a smaller graphic, like the Aztecas graphic, I just run the original graphic thru vector magic, maybe a couple of times til I get the right size and wala. I will definitely consider buying the program when it comes out, if it is not too expensive. I fear it will be upwards of 500 bucks though.

The bridge on the "Bays" logo was just a little 140x140 graphic. I used one of my free eps tokens to get the 2 lines that make up the bridge and then I made up the black lines in the middle to help it make look something like a bridge. I didn't, necessarily, need the eps on it, I am sure I could of run the graphic thru the program, sized if from say 200x200 to 250x250 and run it thru the program again, to accomplish the same goal. The great thing about vector magic is how clean the logos come out. You could be busting out logos just like these pretty easily, I think.

I just made that Bays logo yesterday. It was one I was putting off as I wasn't sure how I was going to do it. I am quickly starting to really like how the logo and jersey turned out.

I love how the Bays logo turned out. I use vector magic too, but none have had the superb results you have here.

What is the name of the font you used for the Bloods and the Bays logos?

Thanks blueturf....although I feel if I can do it, anyone can pull it off.

The font I used on the Bloods was Brush455 BT and the font I used on the Bays was Black Rose.

Here is the Northern League (NL) Central.

I like the Houston Rebels and that is the team that I am running. Cincy is named after their notorious speed limit for trucks...55.....and they'll pull ya over if you are doing 58. I like how the Lincolns logo came out and the Natives logo. The St. Louis Stallions is my biggest disappointment. I had first named them the Stallions and then came up with the idea to name them the Suns. My thought was to use the gateway arch with sun rays coming out the sides. Never could implement it well enough to be happy with it and finally scraped the idea.

Houston Rebels
Milwaukee Natives
Pittsburgh Steel Mills
St. Louis Stallions

Thanks for the compliments by everyone. Of all the stuff I have made in the past, this is the first time I have set up my own fictional league and made stuff, specifically, for it.

Here's the final division....the Northern League (NL) East.

The Atlanta Peaches was one of the first good iconic logos I made that I liked...so it had to be a part of my fictional league. All in all, I am pretty happy with the way this division turned out. I found some good graphics for the Knights, Freedom and Senators.

Atlanta Peaches
Florida Keys
New York Knights
Philadelphia Freedom
Washington Senators
