Beta Request: league logos overhaul

I wanted to get these done before the release, but decided to wait and not jump the gun.

So I'd like to ask to get the six default league logos overhauled, please. There are a total of six images (see attached ZIP file). If you could, please do (at least for a first rendition):

1) round version
2) uniform colors (red, blue, white always work)

Any other versions are a bonus! I'll forward whatever is done to the beta team for possible release with a patch.

Thanks!

Let me point out something - to be considered for inclusion, the logos would have to have no copyright infringement. This means no modding of the MLB logo or some existing minors logo, or a team logo. We can't use that.

Just a nice set of letter fonts would be snazzy.

And btw -
this trumps everyone's damn request for their little league logos! j/k

This is for the community and quite possible the game.

No offence SD - as I'm sure one of the fantastic modders here will come up with the goods - but if there is one thing certain to put people off helping you, it is posting something like this.

That's probably true, although I meant it in half-jest. Suppose I should have put in a smiley.

I'll at least compress the text size.

Generic versions......Helvetica font

Also I need to know what other fonts can be used....A lot of them are free but also created by persons whose intentions are not for companies to make money off of their use....Of course I may not know what I am talking about

oooh, those do look nice. thanks.

yes, if the font is posted online by the creator as being freeware, or free to use, then that's fine.

Okay, I'm going to try to cook something up for these. It's been awhile since I've created any logos, and I have to get reacquainted with CorelDRAW again first. Hopefully the (re)learning curve won't be too bad...

Okay, I'm going to the "full, realistic looking" logo approach. Almost got the Short Season A logo done, hopefully I can get that posted up in a day or two.

Completed first attempt of a logo for Short Season A is attached below. As is usually the case, it loses a little something when reduced to 150x150 from the size it was originally designed at.

Can you do something about the blue stitching on the baseball?

That was an intentional choice to keep the colour palette limited to two colours (plus white and black). It's not hard to change.

LGO, what's the reason for keeping your colour palette limited to two colours?

I couldn't find a third colour that seemed to work well with the two I'd chosen to use. I always struggle with selecting good colours for a logo.

I also approach logos from my print background, which means I treat them as if they were really going to be printed up onto tickets, programs, brochures, and the like. The more colours you use in a document, the more expensive it is to print.

Also, if you look at most real-world team logos, there are two or three colours used, plus black and/or white, so I tend to follow that methodology.

I found an old web site that helps with picking good complementary colours... I'm probably going to redo the colours in the logo using what it suggests, and also try to think more in terms of on-screen appearance rather than from a print/publishing perspective.

I like this approach and hope you'll continue to use it in future logos.

Ahh, never thought about the printing aspect of it all.

Thanks
