Padres 40th Anniversary logo (1969-2009)

I know the Padres aren't having the greatest of seasons in 2008, but I was wondering if someone could come up with a great logo for the Padres 40th Anniversary for NEXT season(1969-2009). Can't wait to see what you guys come up with. Thank You.

Great work on both of them. I like the second one better since it has the original Padres logo on it. You do some great art work. I always enjoy seeing what you create because you seem to have a very keen eye for what is needed on a logo or whatever you create. What graphics program do you use? Just curious!

Wow, thanks ! I use Photoshop. I've used GIMP, but I actually find Photoshop easier to use.

For most fictional logos that I create, I like to add something to the location, when possible. For this Padres one, I wanted to go back to the original colors and logo, but wanted to add something from the current style.

Thanks, again!

You are certainly welcome. I always used PSP for my graphics but I have lost it somewhere. Thought I had it on a disk but can't find it now. I do have the newest Photoshop but I just can't get the hang of it like I did when using PSP...I have tried to read all of the available information for the program, and there are a lot but I just can't seem to grasp what they are doing or saying in them. Maybe I am just not trying hard enough to learn Photoshop...not sure.

Anyway, thanks for the reply. I tried Gimp but I got lost on that one as well. Guess I am just a dummy.

Paint.NET - ever tried that? I like the GUI better than GIMP, as that drives me crazy.

Anyhow, I really like the second one quite a lot.

Oh yea, and on the first one, that banner looks great. Would look really nice with some of that gold/brown color as a sort of piping on the edges.

Yes, I have tried Paint.net also several others that have been mentioned in other posts. I just can't seem to get the hang of these others. Most likely I am not taking enough time reading the how to files in these programs. Guess it is a case like buying only Chevy's because that is all you and your parents owned. I just haven't taken enough time to learn them I suppose. I think I am still hoping to find the PSP program that I know I had.

Anyway, my problem. I will probably end up trying to figure out Photoshop since it has so much written about it on their site and other places. Just hate to take the time, I suppose...and a lot of the times, I just can't seem to understand what I am reading...and I am not a stupid person, just don't understand the terminology I suppose. DUH!

Glad we have so many talented people here already so that maybe it is just a waste of time to worry about making anything new for the sim. Thanks all!
