New Logos and Uniforms for 2009
Well, its that time of year again. With most baseball league seasons winding down, teams start thinking about rolling out their new uniforms and revamped logos for next spring.
This thread, like ones in the past, is intended to capture all the changes for both major and minor league teams for the 2009 season. So by all means, feel free to contribute to this thread, as its for everyone on the board. ![]() First up, the Oklahoma Redhawks of the Pacific Coast League (AAA-Texas Rangers) will be known as the Oklahoma City Redhawks in 2009 with new logos and uniforms.

The New York-Penn League (Short Season A) will have a new logo for 2009. They held a contest for fans to pick their favourite among the finalists back in July. You can view the choices here.
Edit: Looking at the results, it seems Option 1 was the overwhelming choice. Last edited by reds1; 09-18-2008 at 03:03 PM. |

Thanks for the new Oklahoma City uniforms and logos.
The Winston-Salem Warthogs will have a new name in '09 but it has not yet been announced. Rumor has it that they'll be the Rhinos but I don't know how much truth there is to it. I suppose there'll be more in the coming months. I think there were something like 12 new logos this season.

Also, the Tucson Sidewinders will move to Reno next season and will disclose their new name, logo, and uniforms next week (9/23).
For Indy League fans, Tuscon will get a team in the Golden League (presumably to replace the Reno Silver Sox) - they'll be called the Toros (which was the PCL AAA team's name for many years before they became the Sidewinders).

This really falls under the 2008 season, but I couldn't find any updated jersey/cap graphics for the Pulaski Mariners of the Appalachian League (Advanced Rookie-Seattle Mariners). They were previously known as the Blue Jays.
I used colours blue-002c5b and green-026b6e. Home:

I completely agree. Poor use of space and the angled lettering in the "New York-Penn" text just doesn't look right to me. I like No. 4 as well but No. 2 is my favourite hands down. It looks so slick!

How could they not pick #2? That one is by far the best in my opinion.

Agree. #2 has a more modern look and #4 more of a classic look. But any of the new ones are better than their old one!
I can't wait for the Kamloops Clams to join the Victoria Mussels in the Golden League. It's difficult to get good logo and uniform info on the GL. You can download logos from their site...if you are a member of the press. Really fan friendly. I used a couple of their teams in my league but had to do a little guessing on the jerseys and caps.

Another 2008 item, but the Alexandria Aces (Cal Ripkin Sr. Collegiate League) introduced new uniforms this past season.

The Richmond Braves of the International League (AAA-Atlanta) are relocating to Lawrenceville, Georgia and will be called the Gwinnett Braves.

Thanks, reds1.
There's a complete lack of creativity. There's already an indy team called the Aces (Alexandria of United League Baseball, now there's a college team also called the Alexandria Aces and the Reno Aces. The Reno logo is unimaginative as well. The new name for the Warthogs is supposed to be announced in October. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

A couple of items from the independent Can-Am League:
The Nashua Pride have been sold to a group that includes former Red Sox GM Dan Duquette and will be renamed the American Defenders of New Hampshire for next season. The Ottawa Rapidz, having lost money in 2008, have decided to declare bankruptcy now rather than pay for significantly higher stadium fees after the 2009 season. |
