Outstanding. Overall look is clean and vivid. My guess is that the depth created by the shadow effect on the letters and bats may be harder to discern with a reduced size. The only other thought is you may, and it's a personal choice, consider using a warp effect on the JRT, reducing its left and right ends, blowing up slightly the R and the adjacent edges of the J and T and providing some small illusion that your JRT hints at wrapping around the world. But great work. It appears you'll be fine on your own, and soon there'll be folks asking YOU to design one for them!

Here's my attempt. You may get better results yourself if you turn off the background (white) layer so that the logo is on a transparent background. All I did was remove the white background. The drop shadow will have a white background that I can't remove. If you don't know how to get a transparent background then let us know what program you are using so we can offer advice. I use Paint Shop Pro and I don't think you are using PSP because PSP can't round off the beginning and end of the text like you did.

I can't make a logo. I'm just an old logo critic that have been in exile on the Beta Team for three years. I just thought I would look in and see what is happening over on this Forum. I used to live here having the wonderful guys make great logos for me.
Have you thought about placing the JRT between the bats? That is, put the J on the left hand side, the R on the top and T on the right. You might put the league year on the bottom to balance it out. I just don't care for the letters covering up the globe. But you do nice work. If this is one of your first logos, it is excellent. No problem if you don't like the suggestion. It's your logo and you should do what you like. Last edited by Eugene Church; 01-20-2009 at 11:57 PM. |
