New Logos and Uniforms for 2010

Time for another repository for this stuff!

Quote:
The New Orleans Zephyrs (Class AAA; Pacific Coast League) will unveil a new logo on Oct. 14 for the 2010 season, the club's first logo change in six years. Upon arrival in the Crescent City, the Zephyrs kept the same basic look the team had used in Denver since 1985, changing only the city name above the baseball with the letter Z incorporated into the stitching.

Just a note... For anyone interested in historical uniforms, make some noise at this suggestion: Setup for uniform templates by year

I'd love to see it because when the community creates all these great uniforms, it tends to be a pain as the user to update the uniform templates year-by-year, if you happen to have 20 different Dodgers uniforms throughout the ages.

The Lakewood BlueClaws of the Sally league will be getting a new logo and uni for the 2010 season. The logo and cap are below but I don't think the jerseys have been released yet.

I used to see them all the time. That logo is far better than their old one. Hooray!

According as this article, the Marlins will have new uniforms in 2012.
Quote:
Q. Will the team have new uniforms?
A. We’re two years away, but we started working on a new look for the uniforms, new colors, something special for the new home. Teal is a color for the ’90s. You have to be cognizant of your time. The seats will be a beautiful shade of blue.

The Eastern League is expected to announce tomorrow that the Connecticut Defenders will relocate to Richmond for next season.

Edit:

It's official. Also, apparently both the Jamestown Jammers and the Vermont Lake Monsters of the New-York Penn League are interested in moving to Norwich to fill the void.

Not sure if that's such a great idea. I lived in RVA and people did not go to Braves games there at all. Great town, just not a baseball town really.

Not even close to being true. Richmond was consistently top 3 or 4 in International League attendance in the late 80's/early 90's when the Braves young stars were coming through. Going to see future HoFers was a pleasure back then. Even my daughter loved meeting Chipper Jones, Ryan Klesko and Javy Lopez. Seeing them on TBS also kept her interest for awhile.

TBS no longer showing Braves games hurt R-Braves attendance in that you could no longer count on seeing the young players as they made the majors. Also, the Braves organization got bad and the R-Braves declined on the field. As always bad teams=poor attendance.

My experience was just from the '05 and '06 seasons. Was a rather barren stadium.

I suppose I should put into context that I previously had lived in and have come back to Toledo, OH where the Mudhens pack them in night after night in the best stadium in the minors.

The last sentence is a bit odd and disturbing.

Concerning the look of the stadium:

Quote:
It sort of looks like a spaceship that just landed, something different, something people can call their own.

I used Google's image search, and picked the best picture.

Richmond had the lowest attendance in the International League in 2008 (289,570) and the third lowest in 2007 (342,090).

Another change for next year is that Bowling Green and Lake Country are switching from the South Atlantic League to the Midwest League.
