Jersey Lettering Question PS

When using photoshop and you put a team name across its jersey, what degree do you set the arc at? Also what size font do you think is appropriate?

I set mine at 25-35 degree arc. For me, the font size is determined by the font, but ultimately I like to have it span armpit to armpit. I will even adjust the spacing between letters and even the width and/or height of the letters.

That's about what I do as well. I start at 22 and don't generally exceed 33. I often stretch, squish or distort the text in a myriad of other ways as well.

Does anyone know if the same thing can be done within gimp? What are your favorite fonts?

These are my parameters too, though most often I go with arc 20. Again, it is font and context specific. Most often I find myself adjusting character spacing of just a few letters or rasterizing the font and moving different elements around so as to avoid the jersey seam/opening in the middle of the chest. Some letters tend to get hidden behind it. Symmetry is always a concern.
