NCAA Feeder League
Want to set up a variation of an NCAA feeder league, but really do not need it to be as large as what real life has. Was thinking a 4 division league with 24-26 teams in each division. Thought I would set it up by regions (NE, NW, SE, SW). I did some research and started putting teams into the regions, and was trying to go with competitive schools (i.e. National Titles and numerous trips to the tourney).
In going through the teams, I noticed that most teams have just a single uniform and my hope is to create three uniforms (H, A, Alt) for each team. I assume there will be an interest for these? In some instances I will re-post designs that already exist (possibly with some updated layers) but for the most part there will be a number of new designs. I am going to post my league structure in the next post and if anyone has suggestions for teams that may be more deserving to be added and/or teams that should get removed, feel free to post, as I am just a poor Canadian boy who really knows very little about the NCAA world. As well, any teams that seem to be in the wrong region, please speak up.

Florida State Seminoles sneak peak.
Thought I would give an example of what I have been playing around with...

I think the one problem you'll have with using strict regions is that the rl NCAA regions aren't balanced when it comes to team's historical and current performance. The Northeast f.e. lags somewhat behind the rest of the country as far as having high quality D1 schools, while the South and West are far ahead of other regions in that regard. Yeah, I noticed that as I was looking at the histories of the teams, in regards to wins and trips to the big dance. I may have to stretch the boundaries of the regions somewhat. I welcome your input. I will post my current alignment now.

For sure. Only reason they were missing is because I actually have a Texas Longhorns team in my fictional Major League that this will be feeding. but I will include them as the 25th team in the Southern Conference (unis are all made already)

Maine Black Bears
Start with ones I already have full sets for. Thank you in advance to those who have created many of these (I have added some new layers to give all the uniforms a similar look). If my name is not on the bottom of the picture, it is not an isedelyod original.

One thing I notice is you've included Temple. Irl, they've dropped their baseball team, with 2014 being their final season.
I'd also suggest leaving Northern Colorado and Grambling off the list, as they're both pretty poor teams. It's probably a tossup as to whether Air Force, Marshall or Hofstra are good enough to make your league. Beyond that everything looks pretty reasonable to me. I'll try to take some time tomorrow to figure out the top teams that are missing from your lists. Last edited by Lukas Berger; 09-06-2014 at 11:25 PM. |

I am eagerly awaiting your suggestions. I have not looked that far ahead in terms of uniforms so I am totally open to changes.

Teams to consider adding:
USC Trojans (The greatest NCAA baseball program of all time with 12 National Titles and 21 CWS appearances!) Mississippi State Bulldogs (a must have imo with a long history of success including 9 CWS appearances! 2nd in the CWS two years ago.) Louisiana Lafayette Ragin Cajuns (not a historical super-power, though they have 1 CWS appearance and regularly make the NCAA tourney, but were the #1 ranked team much of this year) Louisville Cardinals (Also a must have, one of the top teams in the nation yearly with 3 CWS appearances) Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (An unquestioned super-power with 3 CWS appearances and a yearly presence in the tourney, also a must have) San Diego Toreros (A strong regional power in the West, they're typically a top 10 team in the West) UC Irvine Anteaters (Another West regional power, they coached by one of the greatest coaches in NCAA history in Mike Gillespie, and made the CWS this year and have two CWS appearances overall) Kentucky Wildcats (Never made the CWS, but they've been a strong power in the SEC and the regionals over the last few years. If you're looking at their overall historical record they might not make it, but if you're looking at how good they are now, they should easily make it in) Houston Cougars (2 CWS appearances and 6 Regional Titles) Fresno State Bulldogs (1 National Title and 4 CWS appearances) UConn Huskies (A typically strong team in the East, historically they've made 5 CWS appearances) Nebraska Cornhuskers (3 CWS appearances and a perennial NCAA Tourney team) Seton Hall Pirates (Weaker lately but with a strong history of 4 CWS appearances) I was just looking at Northern Colorado and realized they actually have a long history of success in the 50's and 60's. So I retract my suggestion to remove them I'll try to add more tomorrow if you're still looking for suggestions by then. Last edited by Lukas Berger; 09-07-2014 at 12:19 AM. |
