Logo/uniform request for vintage Italian league
I am working on a new league idea and I was hoping that the community would be willing to be of some assistance. I just read a story in the New York Times about a "storico calcio" tournament played in Florence - a historic soccer game played amongst the four teams from each of the city's four neighborhoods. The players play for pride (and for free). I thought a baseball tournament based on this would be fun to play - 18 games taking place on weekends in the summer.
The teams are named after colors: Verdi (green) of San Giovanni, the Azzurri (blue) of Santa Croce, the Bianchi (white) of Santo Spirito, and the Rossi (red) of Santa Maria Novella. Here is a description of the team uniforms and logos from their website: Santa Maria Novella, uniform color: red, logo: gold sun with a red background. San Giovanni, color: green, area banner: depiction of the Baptistry with a green background, Santa Croce, color: blue, area banner: gold cross with a blue background, Santo Spirito, southwest quarter of the city, color: white, area banner: white dove, with a white background. I've attached an image of the banners (I believe the image in the middle is the logo of the city, so perhaps that would be the league logo). Would someone be willing to take a whack at some ancient looking logos and uniforms? Thanks for the consideration! |

Me too (on both counts)! One of my favorite places. I can actually envision that my league would take place on a temporary field in one of the big piazzas.

Here are some simple logos, at least. Perhaps, one of the more talented guys will provide the unies.

Hi DreamTeams - these logos are amazing! Thanks so much for doing these … and I want to say how much I enjoy your Metro Leagues. I've been following them for years and used them for inspiration many times.

I am just seeing this now! Thanks so much DreamTeams - these are immensely cool, and exactly what I was hoping for my league. They have a cool vintage feel (the original Renaissance uniforms for the real life game have wide pinstripes, so this is a really nice translation of that) and the logos came out really nicely! Thank you again!

Here's an alternative set with subtle thick pinstripes...
