White Boxed Backgrounds
I hate always having to ask for help from people more skilled than I am, so wondering if maybe I could just get a little guidance. I've downloaded a few images that are contained in the square white boxes for backgrounds and would like to remove that white essentially making it transparent. I use irfanView and Adobe Photoshop, and of course have access to the simple Paint program. Would any of these offer a simple way to change that white to transparent without troubling anyone too much to answer?
Thanks in advance .

don't know about making it trans[parent, but you could crop it off and just leave the pic. Probably not what you're after but it's the only thing my limit experience knows. Good luck, sorry wasn't much help beyond an obvious suggestion.

I use paint.net, which is free. It has a wand feature that will make that white background transparent.

I use this method in Photo Impact Pro but it works in most programs. You fill the white background with a color that is not used in the logo and use your color selection tool to just eliminate that color.
