Help me bring back my childhood AAA team
Hi everybody!
I grew up in Tucson, AZ, and one of the great pleasures of living there was that it was a phenomenal town for baseball–in my remembered lifetime the Rockies, the White Sox, and eventually the Diamondbacks all did spring training there, and the Indians had just before (if you watch Major League, the spring training sections are all set there). To the point of this thread, Tucson also had a proud tradition of AAA baseball–the Toros were around for decades as AAA club for various teams, most prominently the Astros in the 80s and 90s. They won the PCL championship in 1991 and 1993, with Kenny Lofton as their MVP, and I have very hazy but glorious memories of seeing guys like Billy Wagner pitch for them in 1995-96. In 1997, they became the AAA team of the newly-founded Arizona Diamondbacks, changing their name and branding to become the Tucson Sidewinders and moving from venerable old Hi Corbett Field to the shiny new Tucson Electric Park, which unfortunately was in the middle of nowhere, driving down attendance. They continued to produce quality players and won the "Bricktown Showdown" AAA championship in 2006, but just two years later the team would be moved to Reno and renamed the Aces. Around the same period, Tucson lost all 3 of its spring training teams to Phoenix. They've now got an independent league team again, but it's not the same. Anyway, the point of this rant is that I realized that, at least in OOTP, I can bring them back from the dead! To do that, though, I need to have their jersey and cap recreated, and I don't know how to do that. Could anyone help me out? I searched the forums and came across one old toros uni, but it's from long before I started watching the team. My preference would be for the Toros, but I'd be thrilled with either! |

Although, they're not exactly the same as your picture, you can find the Toros jerseys here: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...wback-uni.html
And the Sidewinders: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...unis-caps.html And here's my take on the Toros jersey. Last edited by Pwal; 02-10-2017 at 12:53 PM. |
