Team Cities Not Showing Up In League Creation

I was wondering if someone could look at my customized database files and see if they can find out what's wrong. I spent, honestly, probably a couple hours over the last week or so trying to find the problem and I can't find it. When I go to create a league instead of listing cities from my cities.txt file it just has Team 1, Team 2, etc. I took out all the special characters, removed spaces, tried with and without regions and latitudes and longitudes, and I even added a nation (and an ethnicity) as I read nations.txt sometimes doesn't like only a single nation, yet it still doesn't work. I don't know what else I can try.

I looked over the format of your data and didn't see any obvious errors. It all seems to be structured correctly.

Some suggestions:

When you plugged in provinces and longitudes and latitudes for the cities, did you use the correct formats of text and digits?

I realize the appeal of making "clean" versions of all these database files. That would be my ideal choice as well. But if you can't get it to work, I'd go back and mod the originals. Replace some existing data with your custom data. For example, replace some existing ethnicities with your custom ones, then replace a couple of existing nations with your custom ones, and add your cities to the cities.txt file.

I know that extra cities can be safely added to the cities.txt file; I don't know whether the other database files can be extended with extra entries, or whether custom data needs to replace existing data.

There might need to be a minimum number of ethnicities. The nations.txt data lines do have fields for up to four ethnicities, perhaps there need to be at least four extant in the database.

Unless you end up needing to "re-import" later, all of this database info gets "locked in place" when you create a league. So you could insert your customized database files when you create your league, and then switch all the originals back in. I say this, in case you're concerned with affecting your default database, when it comes to your other OOTP leagues.

In the league setup part where you set up the team names/nicknames/etc, did you change the nation dropdown on the far right of each line to the appropriate nation you want? I think the game defaults to US, but if it can't find cities in the US it just calls everything Team 1,2,3,etc...

I know I've seen this too, I'm trying to remember exactly what I did to correct it.

I figured it out. I created it in Excel and did not have any region names listed in that cell so when I exported it that comma field was erased.
