i finally figured out how to create my nation of Endor and have that set up to the best of my knowledge based on what the online manual says, but i cant seem to create my city of Endor City

Here's what i have for both
229,Endor,Endor,END,Endorian,4,5,0,73,1,27,0,0,0,1 23,30,716,6,125

Endor City,7841952,229,Endor,41.84,-87.68

Endor basically is USA
Endor City is Chicago
i have a whole world to create for this and they r based off of US cities just with different names.

i sent an e-mail to you, but it looks like you have sorted some of it out. The difference is Endor is not USA but Illinois in the city record, using your example.

all i did to change these was copy and paste USA for Endor and Chicago For Endor City, changed the names and the population of Endor City.

so what am i doing wrong? i tried adding 3 other cities to see if any of them would show up

so why doesnt what they say work?
i cant find my nation, in the nation.txt......i did add it in game but why cant i add cities in game?
all i am trying to do is copy a city say Los Angeles turn it into Glenbard, put it in Cali vs California and leave the long & lat alone since Glenbard for me is teh same as LA
here r my current 12 teams as their real counterpart
Endor City = Chicago
Glenbard = LA
Colortown = Oakland
Bird City = San Francisco
Trout = Charleston,SC
Rock City = Philly, prefer south philly
Marlboro = Houston
Styper = Cleveland
Corvair = Detriot
Ford = Milwaukee
Brandywine = St Louis
Chevy = New Orleans
now with all that being said some of those r states not cities such as Chevy, Styper, Corvair, Ford, & Marlboro
but i have cities for each
So how do i put these in the game properly?

ok after reading the help manual more......what should i be using to edit this properly? cant i just open the .TXT using notepad? or should i use Excel or even what openoffice.org comes with for this?

I have not tried editing in 11, only in previous versions. So I edit the .txt files. Notepad should be used for this. You can copy rows and insert the new lines. The cities file needs to be maintained in alphabetic order, so don't add to the end of the file. Nations file is maintained in nation code order.

Changes to cities.txt will affect every saved game that you create going forward after the change. There is not currently any way to modify cities for an existing saved game.

so does that mean if i edit my cities then start a new EBL it will work?

well creating a new game my 3 NAtions didnt show up and after starting it they didnt show up under player editor, nor under explore world

Yes. Also, I hope you backed up your cities.txt in case you want to ever go back.

And as the manual says, you can't modify cities in an exisiting league. The game creates your 'game world' when you first open the Create Custom League button from the main menu. So your cities and nations (and other things like weather and such) need to be defined before this. OOTP creates this 'game world' from the current txt files in that database folder.

yes i backed up my league
ok but if i added 3 cities and then created anew fictional league to see if they r showing up and they r not what did i do wrong?

i am about to give up trying to play my EBL once again and just create a new MLB with 8-10 teams and let teh game do exspansion for it.

tried to create 1 of my cities for US and that didnt work either

Endor City.3000000,206,New Coruscant,41.84,-87.68

its still basically chicago just the names have been changed 206 is country Id for USA

You have a period between Endor City and the population. It must be a comma.

Also did you move the record (since it was Chicago), into the proper alphbetical sequence of Endor City for this test?

Just curious...are you deleting the .dat files that were created when you first started your game; and then restarting your game with your new modifications? If not, the game may still be using your first set of .dat files. In other words, you may want to completely delete your first saved game, make your modifications, and then start a new game.

Nation of Endor is showing up for my EBL league but not for any new leagues
City of Endor City, Endor is not showing up at all nor is city of Glenbard, Endor

I didnt realize i was Missing a coma for Endor City, USA til ya said something.
i made that mistake once before too.

.dat file? help.... i am making my mods to the city txt file. what dat file do u mean?

here is my nations and cities txt file as i have modding them...i orig did the nations of Endor, Coruscant and Coreillia ingame. i did add Endor to the nations txt file but not the other 2.

ok the only .dat file that i think u r talking about is under saved games "MLB vs EBL" nations2 when i click open it seems to open it using notepad and to me is unreadable.

ok which .dat file i found 2 saved games - MLB vs EBL - nations2

then again in teh auto save folder.

what do i do? just delete them?

why isnt there a cities folder?
