How long does it take to play a whole season for you guys?

It took me forever to get halfway done in 6.5, so I can safely assume it will be months to get there with this version. Not sure of your minor league knowledge, but I hope you can at least get close to the actual talent and potential for these guys.

Thanks for the foundation of the roster set though, since that is the most important part.

Are you guys using actual SS/Rookie rosters or just using fictional players? Also, are you listing prospects in their opening day minor league levels or current levels?
Agreed, it is going to be a work in progress for us.

We're hoping to have the initial release have SS/Rookie fictional players, and then when the rosters for those leagues are released (June 17?) edit those guys into the game.

He has made an adjustment in his batting stance as well, he used to have some movement now he is really silent at the plate. All in all, last year I thought he would be a bust but watching him play some this year he has the confidence and the tools be a great 5 tool guy. Not to mention one of the best arms in the league.
Ya. They're not my rosters so it's not my decision, but players like him and Swisher who were SUPPOSED to be really good who have finally started being that good, I'd be more inclined to rate them really well. Maybe not 1.000+ OPS good, but more "take a notch off what he's done this year" than "add a bit to his past and give him good talent". If they're 2006 rosters, they should theoretically mirror 2006 performance, in which case these guys should be rated well, as due to their talent, it's unlikely it's just a fluke season. They're not players who came out of nowhere (see: Casey Janssen. I wouldn't rate him as well as he's pitched. Nor would I have Chacin last year. And now? He sucks again.)

For my Mogul rosters, I already went through and made every pitcher have accurate pitching arsenels. Mogul doesnt have full minor leagues though, so most of the players are decent to good prospects, but if you need someone, I can check to see if I have him.

They said the first frelease will have fiction SS/R rosters, but when the real rosters are announced, they will edit in the real players.

Cubby/Rolen:
1) Will the real hall of fame be in the rosters?
2) Will the historical leaderboards be accurate ?
3) Will the league awards list have the real historical awards?
4) Will palyer have their real lief awards listed in their accomplsihments?`

Cubby and Rolen, I just wanted to say thanks for all the hard work and dedication that you two have put in over all the years and continue to do today. I am definitely waiting(albeit patiently-so unlike me) for these rosters to be released. I do get a thrill out of the fictional guys only because I see some humorous names. I am from Cleveland area and I live right by the Lake County Captains(a city or two over) and it gave me a very good laugh to see that one season I started they randomly got the name Lake County Nut Huggers. That happened to make my day, but I still am baffled at why that was put into the system haha. Anyways keep up the good work and I look forward to playing and the REAL Lake County Captains are put into my minor league system instead of the Nut Huggers.

With all the work we're doing collecting pics for the players that are in your set, I have 1 question. are you guys planning on editing minor league managers and coaches? because I was thinking of adding them to the pic pack

Should we still be looking for something by tonight? Just curious if I missed it. . .

I think we would be extremely fortunate to get something out by this weekend.

I just don't want them to rush something out full of mistakes. But it would appear that they are making every effort to be as accurate and polished as possible regardless of the length of time.

Oh, I thought that Cubby said he was trying to get something out by this weekend. That's all. No rush guys! Thanks for all your hard work!

He did say that, but I wouldn't take that as anything close to a guarantee. Still, we can hope!

Cubby, there are lots of us who greatly appreciate your hard work. Playing with MLB rosters (especially the minors) has long been the best part of OOTP.

So thanks again (in advance) for doing this.

By the way, when you finish the rosters please include directions on how to load them into the game. Many of us aren't computer geniuses!

Will we be able to incude all of the other leagues from around the world with this roster set? I will likely just get the Team names and such correct in those leagues, and use them in conjunction with Cubby's U.S. leagues.

One thing you can do is export the rosters, start a new game, then import them. Only problem with this CURRENTLY is that it resets all of the depth charts, etc. etc. We're petitioning Markus for some help with this, as we're planning on eventually building the set with accurate world team and players.

Cubby, not to be impatient, but do you have an ETA for the roster set? I know a lot of us are anxious and we dont mean to be pushy or impatient but we're all curious to know about the progress.

hmm...I'm starting an online league, and am only going as deep as high A.

If by any chance you get these done, and are just waiting on releasing your set with the lower A levels and rookie leagues, that you could release a preliminary set.

I've decided how to go about this.

The first release most likely will include re-rated players, based on PECOTA stats for MLB and AAA levels. I'll be trying to form fit the players in AA, and A leagues, but won't be delving too deep into those ratings yet. I'll also be editing all guys who are on the BA Top 10 prospects list.

I ordered BA's prospect handbook with the top 30 for each system, so those guys will get done when that gets here. Then, for the second release, I'll edit those 30 prospects (or 20 since the first 10 are done already) as well as adjusting AA and A ratings based on stats I can find.

Hopefully that makes sense, but if I did it all at once, you guys wouldn't have anything in your hands for a while.

What you're doing does make sense. Realistically, a lot of those players aren't going to crack the major leagues. If they do, they're going to be just fringe major leaguers or role players. Another thing you do have to think about is that with there being a draft in the first year (by default), we're already getting some more quality prospects to each team.

There's going to be a lot of people strictly using that first set (like me probably), but there's going to be a lot of people using the resulting sets for a much more realistic play. Take your time Cubby.

I know a few have asked but is there an ETA on the first release at all. Not being pushy at all, just wondering if you think we're days from a release or weeks. It would probably be the difference if a few of us starting our universe or waiting.

A little heads up about the BA Top 10. The ones on their website are different from the book. If you'd like, I can post the top 10 guys from the book, since I have it.
