Hey Jobe, would you be willing to share the Player Creation modifiers and Major league equivilencies you used for each of the leagues? you have that in a spreadsheet or something that you'd be willing to upload? Just trying to get an idea of what you found to be best as far as statistical accuracy for those foreign and indy teams.
thanks.

(1) the league modifiers - I just have the stats totals in spreadsheets, I've changed the modifiers for player creation several times in the creation process, taking into account my assumption of the general strength of the league. I didn't calculate them, to be honest, but gradually adjusted them during player creation - therefore they are not in a spreadsheet.
(2) Serie A/1 - no, I havent worked on Serie A/1. The available Info is not that good to be honest - of course you have good stats at baseball.it, but no way to get positioning and personal data for most of the teams. My hope was, that you (APujols) could do some revision here You have the infos...(3) NCAA in draft - no, its not possible. The idea is that NCAA-players go to MLB via free agency. (4) Thats also the reason why the MLB-draft is just 30 rounds. Playing some years you will notice that this works quite ok. (a) there are enough young players to get via FA and (b) all the players from the draft are signed - even in reality its not common that more than 30 players from the draft get signed, if you look through the lower rounds. Even in the current setting the average age of all players goes down with the years - the NCAA-draft (aka the simulate recruitment) alone produces nearly 3000 rookies every single year! This setting is in fact my big problem with the age/development-settings - ive tested them a lot in smaller sets (and there is also some interesting testing detail available here in the forum), but they behave quite differently in the big set due to the big pressure of the younger players - since there are that many, there are also that many promising ones. Therefore I had to keep developing and aging settings down... (5) Ive just tested it and in the new uploaded version the Namibia-bug is removed. If youre using the old set the solution is simple: just remove the foreigner regulation and modify the roster size, so that the AI changes the roster. Then it will work. Unfortunately Ive noticed two other bugs: there are some NCAA-players with long contracts, far longer than their set free agency times. I've removed that once, but somehow it came back, probably I pushed the wrong button. So you either have to manually correct it or to live with it... Second, even more hurting: the Gamecocks have the South Carolina State logo. Don't know how this has happened, to be honest

Actually the A1 info is very easy to get,
each team's web page has all the season's boxscores. it's just a matter of taking a sampling of them to use to figure primary and secondary positions. I'm just now waiting for information of the teams themselves to set the financial stabilities and fan levels correctly |

Are Retired People on the Free-Agent Market? If yes maybe you could put them in Roster so it can Exported so people can import them into like lets say Drafted by Teams League?
What NCCA People do you want to Draft? Why didn't you include the 2006 Draft Picks on the team that drafted them?

I've done everything jope has told me to do, and it's still not working. I modifies the rules, but it still says namibia has an illegal number of players on the active roster (2). I have even downloaded the new file, and on the 12th, I am still getting the message. I don't get it.

I had the same exact problem... new file and Namibia problem.
I went to the league setup for whatever league they're in (don't have that in front of me), foreign players limit was already off... I just turned off roster limit for that league. Then no problem... actually went back in after simming one day, and turned roster limit back on... in the meantime the AI had filled up Namibia so we had no more problems. |

Second question: these are pre-MLB-draft-rosters, and the NCAA-rosters are as of spring 2006. I've written that several times. All the NCAA-players are with their schools, so that its possible to replay the 2006 NCAA season... MLB-trades: yeah, thats a real problem. I could lower the problem of the lots of FA-signings with international leagues by setting enormous financial discrepancies, but nothing to do against the trades. This kind of behavior is simply a shortcoming of OOTP2006. Namibia-bug: I just removed the foreigner limitation and thought the AI would do the rest... well, unfortunately not. I will reset the roster size and then re-upload it. Really a stupid mistake... |

I love this roster set, thanks a ton for putting it together. I don't quite have the RAM to run a full universe, though, so is there a way to use just a few leagues? For instance, say I want MLB, Japan, Korea, and Mexico. I don't think you can just delete all the other leagues, but can I create a new universe with just those leagues, then import the rosters?

I've been wondering this as well. I'd like a universe with MLB, Korea, Japan, Mexico and some others, but not as many as there are in this one. It's my feeling it could be run very well, however (and I know it was a lot of work and I still thank jope for it) I feel all the NCAA leagues really bog down speed.

This is an idiotic reply but Im kind of an idiot.....how do I make this leage my default league? Where do I extract the files to? Someone please help an idiot out and tell him how to use this remarkable roster set. Thank you.
P.S. Big win for Tulsa football tonight over Southern Miss on National TV. I was impressed |

to use the set: simply unzip the .lg-folder in the saved_games-directory and then load it into the game.
reducing the leagues: I was thinking on that too, for example releasing a set without NCAA. Its possible, but its a ton of work ... steps would be (1) create the leagues you want (per hand), (2) create an appropriate number of players, export the player lists from the big set and import it in the new one (using the new ids); (3) modify all the things you cannot import/export: pitching arsenals for the pitchers (historic stats are lost as well, without any solution), coaching staff, financials... I still hope that everything will get easier in OOTP2007, then I'll do a roster set avoiding all the mistakes I made with this one - promise ![]() Its always a learning-by-doing-process (and I am still annoyed that I am not able to change the name files and using the schedule editor, for example...) |

Love this league set. I've been playing around with it for several days now, and have simmed up through the 2014 season.
Just wanted to point out to people that several of the leagues require tweaking the draft date. There is a bug in the way the game advances the year on the draft date, and any of the leagues that start play late in the year (i.e. the winter leagues) will have to be manually advanced after the first year of play. The following leagues are affected: Serie Nacional Baseball Can-Am League Liga de Beisbol Dominicano Liga Mexican del Pacifico Liga de Beisbol Profesional de Puerto Rico Liga Venezolana de Beisbol Profesional Claxton Shield Liga Nicaraguanse Beisbol Profesional What I did was on Jan 1 2007, I went into Game Setup and changed the year on the draft date to 2007. If you don't do this, then OOTP won't advance the year, and drafts will stop happening for those leagues. Eventually, the league gets starved of players and roster problems ensue. This is why roster problems were so prevalent with the Cuban League in the default setup. Once again, great league. I'm really enjoying it.
