Need some help here. Supposedly this guy played professionally but I can find no listing for a Thomas Foster on baseball-reference.com. Could this possibly be Elmer Foster by chance? Or is it more likely that the "played professionally" info is not accurate?

"Played professionally" could very well mean he played in a league that wasn't the NL / UA / PL, etc. He could have played in any of the number "lesser" leagues.

Found him. His name was listed wrong, not an uncommon thing to happen in that era.

Wow, Wrightwing, an impressive set of wonderful finds, I believe these are too old to be on Corbis, may I ask again your source for these glorious 19th century reproductions.

One of those accident things. I was actually searching for Dennis Konuszewski (1995) and found him playing on one of those 19th century vintage base ball teams. Found a picture of the team (still looking for him) and there with it was a picture of the original 1883 Saginaw Old Golds.

This is exactly why I still search for pictures. The unknown treasures that you stumble across. Anyways, here is the link...
