I am familiar with images of Amos Strunk of the Philadelphia Athletics circa 1908-1914. I did not document where I found the photo I posted, but recently I have been downloading some images from baseball-fever.com. Whatever the source, Strunk was identified. I admit, I found the likeness a questionable match to earlier images but felt compelled to post. I appreciate that one reason for this forum is to ferret out the truth so I hope that by posting we may reach that point regarding Strunk, Chicago White Sox.

The alleged Strunk is a Corbis photo. Photo taken Mar 25, 1922 in spring training in San Antonio.

Thanks UKBBFan for the quick source ID. I've been researching several sources including Corbis. I thought Corbis would be a reliable source. I agree that the photo is still in question.

One would expect Corbis to be reliable - but they are not. Nor is Getty images. If it doesn't seem right, it probably isn't.

Images are sold/licensed to them with incorrect or overblown ID's (like WS games photos that are not). They lack resources to check this.
