Creating a fictional league with real players?

Anyway I can create a fictional league(fictional teams and such) with an MLB roster and do an inaugural draft of those players? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am new to the game. Thanks.

start a historical league and then go into edit league Structure. Give teams new names, etc. you might need to put it in commissioner mode.

After changing the teams. don't forget to generate a new schedule

I won't be able to make it an 8 team league then would I? Or change rules such as DH and stuff?

Is there a way to release players from their teams without them losing quite a bit of value in the ratings?
