What would happen if you disabled player development with this roster set?

Would it play out a year using the players ratings and then recalc ratings the next year based off stats the previous year(s)?

Any help would be appreciated.

I saw someone say that if you turn off Age Restriction then you won't get just 16 year olds in the Draft. I was wondering how exactly you'd do that. Much appreciated.

David Wallace was traded early this season from the Indians. He was an Indian on Opening Day.

Cubby,

I used your 3.1 roster set to start an online league, and for the most part it's worked well. One GM has asked me about retired players not being in the game, which causes the single season and career leaderboards to be wrong and the hall of fame to be empty.

Is there a way for me to import these players? If so, what impact would it have on the league file size?

Thanks.

The copy I'm looking at now has them all in it, I'm not sure where they would have gone in your file?

I'm still new to being a commish in an online league, so bear with me. When I sim and export, I include MLB player history in the league file but not the reports. Would I need to include history in the reports as well?

CubbyFan, do we have another version soon ??? Hopefully with some of the missing players in it perhaps, and the coach "problem" you have been working on.

You really got a beauty, but it got to get a finishing touch and then left alone. All players/gamers can then sort out whatever they find wrong. Sorriano, photos, ratings on minor leaguers and so on.
Iīm for one donīt like to start a full season until Iīm almost certain that we have a "final" version. As final now something like this can be.

When you get that "final" version out I will on my part check up the photos I gathered and share them ASAP.

I figured out what was triggering the problem I was having with the staff payroll line item in the team financials. Since the roster that exists now doesn't include contracts and salaries for most of the coaches, I was using the setup menu to create fictional contracts and salaries. The resulting salaries were reasonable, but the staff payroll total was way off, every time. I assume this is bug in OOTP, but one that may be triggered by some characteristic of this roster -- perhaps the change in start date of the season, or something like that. So, I guess that's another good reason to wait for a new version of this roster.

My comment in an earlier post about Hanley Ramirez missing a position rating was incorrect. Apparently something had messed up this roster after I started using it. When i downloaded it again, the problem went away.

There are two Tony Giarratano's, I believe the duplicate is a FA.

Sorry to push, but the RL season getting close to over and it will be hard to catch up before a version for next year start to be an issue.

If you donīt have any more version ready soon, please inform so each and everyone can start meddling with this one. Adding players, photos, coaches and stuff.

Hm.
Do unretire John Halama for the Buffalo Bisons (Cleveland) He have played in more than 15 starts for Bisons this year.

Hey guys, still alive.

I don't think there will be another release of the 2008 set, but I'm already starting work on a 2009 set to use in OOTP9. I'm setting an extremely rough date of sometime in November for a first rough release (though that can obviously wildly swing). Obviously, the first priority for 2009 will be including coaching staffs and stadiums for all of the MLB/MiLB teams so that should not be a worry.

Right now, I'm going through and updating the minor league squads to reflect the end of season rosters, so when this season ends, I can put together my own database as we did last year, import the MLB teams, affiliate them with the "old" minor league teams, and we'll be good to go for a 2009 set with a few tweaks (hope that makes sense). I think we can knock it out WELL before we even start to think about playing OOTP10, so it will give us a great opportunity to tweak to our heart's desires before the game comes out for next year (assuming it can import into next year's game, *fingers crossed*)

Also, if anyone has an idea of where to find Minor League Free Agent listings, it would help very much to put together the pool of 2009 free agents.

Well, I am 80% sure that BA puts out a list of minor league FAs for every team at the end of the year. But, if you're looking for guys who are already MiLFAs (i.e., they didn't finish 2008 with a team), your best bet would be to go through BA's transaction logs and look for players released. The logs come out once a week.

How about one that comes out on 10-1 meaning the started date on that day and Stats for this year don't have to be include or better yet how would I change the start date to 10-1-08 without editing the Schedule because I will have a updated Roster Set coming out with Roster as they would be at the start of the Offseason and also has my World Series Teams League, the NFl League and 1979 League that I created in it to. Had to delete Drafted by Teams League but at least you get Joe Torre and so on as available Personal and people like Babe Ruth on the Free-Agent Market.
My set is done just have to finish some Minor League Rules and so on. Left people with Options on their Teams because they might stay with their teams. Injures are left alone and Staff is to.

So what the best way to add players into your roster. Add fictional player and then mix and match him with quality and name OR try to fix stats on MLE bases and then import him from a doctored Lahmanns DB ??

How did you do it ???

To finish off this then I think the schedule is a bit wrong.
OK you moved many of the March games into DH in the beginning of April,
BUT I canīt see the 30 March game between Atlanta at Washington.

Counting these teams comes out to 161 each. Did I count wrong.

If any is interrested I have re-schedule most of these first day DH games in a manor that I think is probable.

I post it if anybody likes it. It takes a little bit of editing in the schedule, but not to hard.
