First off, please do not PM or IM me for support or questions. Please post in this thread or one of the ones referenced herein if you have questions.
BIG THANKS TO BATTISTS FOR HELPING ME SET THIS UP THROUGH ADD-ONS CENTRAL!!! INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 1. Cut a hole in a box. 2. Put yo' ju... ![]() No, really. 1. Load up any saved game in OOTP. 2. Go to Game Menu | Add-ons Central. 3. Click "Add Server", and in the box, paste in the following path: http://www.younglifenorthdekalb.com/ootp9/ootp9.xml 4. You will see the NABA file with a "download" link next to it. Download it. 5. After downloading is completed, the "download" will change to "install." Install it. 6. You should now be able to do a "New Quickstart game" and see the NABA. Here are the details... NABA OVERVIEW The North American Baseball Alliance is a ready-to-go Quick Start league with 24 teams, 2 leagues, 6 teams in each division. The idea behind it was to create a league with teams in relatively large cities in North America, with nicknames and logos that are tied in some way to the city, thus making them easier to associate. Here's the league structure, along with stadium info for the teams:

The "OVL" field in the table above represents the overall net effect of the park's factors, with the details out to the right. A value of 1.000 in OVL would correlate to a ballpark in which stats that are about average for the league are produced. Anything above 1.05, and that stadium will probably be a noticeable hitters' park. Anything below 0.95, and you're looking at a pitchers' park.
I'm not particularly good at unis. I just grabbed logos from the big site linked in the mods forum, and matched the uniform colors. Here's a sampling. NABA STATISTICS This league uses RonCo's recommended player development settings, along with my recommended statistical settings, to produce statistical output that is something of a broad-brush of baseball from 1980-2004. The idea is that no changes need to be made in stats from season to season, so that a 40-HR season means the same thing in 2000 that it does in 2010, 2020, and 2090. 60HR in a season is possible, but not likely, and the low 40s might lead the league in a given season. League-wide ERAs will be a bit above 4.00, and it's possible for a stud pitcher to turn in an ERA under 2.00. Here's a look at the statistical leaders in the most recent season. First hitting: ![]()

NABA PLAYER DEVELOPMENT AND DECLINE
I refer you to RonCo's thread for details, but my reasons for incorporating his dev settings into this league are as follows:

A big thanks for this Sky Dog. I appreciate all the work you(along with Ronco) put into getting the perfect blend of stats so we dont have to go through all the grunt work to find the proper settings. I can always trust that if you put out a mod it will be to my liking. I took this added the two expansion teams and took over Columbus. I drafted young and it is showing as I started out 1-5 and am not scoring runs. I like the young talent and money I will be able to spend down the road so its not looking so bad
![]() Thanks again. |

Just a note that although Anthony Black leads the league with 579 career homeruns, he's only 32 years old. So he ought have no problems making 700. Pretty cool.

I like the league setup, but I am going to expand to 30 teams. Also, I want to use a smaaler season lenght, would I just scale the HOF accordingly. In other words, If I'm playing an 81 game season, then reduce HOF qualifiers by half ( instead of 3000 hits, make it 1500 hits)?
Also, Id like to use a hard salary cap. Any idea what a good number would be. Is it possible to setup HS and college feeders? If so how many would be appropriate? |

Thanks to all who put in hard work on this quick start. I think I'm going to use it as a basis for an online league.
I just wanted to post that if anyone else gets an OOTP crash to desktop while attempting to setup this quickstart, just restart OOTP and load the game as a saved game. It does get setup. For some reason it just crashes the first time it tries to load. |

I have tried downloading/installing this program for the better part of 2 hours now, and each time I get a corrupt data base. I am following the exact instructions as posted. What do you suggest?
Thanks, Rob

I could really use some help with this process of installing a Quick Start league. I have tried to make this NABA one work for sometime now. Every time, I receive an unable to load world file, and the game crashes. Any advice would be appreciated.

I am really enjoying this Quickstart. Thanks to SkyDog and those that contributed to this.
I have only one problem with the Quickstart and I am wondering if others are experiencing this. I am getting no stats displayed on the Batting vs. Pitchers screens. Nothng is displayed on the either the player profile screen or the pregame screen. I am running the latest patched version of OOTP9 and I do not have this problem with other saved games.

Can this group of settings be used in an historical league starting in 1938? And can we get the final settings all here in one place? Both Ronco's and Skydogs?

Nice mod, very stylish logos!
In my 1st ever season with OOTP I took the San Diego Sunshine to the Show and won, defeating the Philadelphia Freedom, in 7. The Sunshine were led by ace Steve Winston and infielders SS Paco Montes and IB Carlos Vera both of whom had career seasons- with 41 & 37 dinkers respectively. Vera is making sinister noise about his contract however- we'll see what happens in 2002. FWIW, I made no trades during the year and managed about 50% of the games. file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/PETER/My%20Documents/Out%20of%20the%20Park%20Developments/OOTP%20Baseball%209/saved_games/Naba2.lg/news/html/teams/team_65_stats.html |
