Start a mid-season league?

Hey guys...it's been a while since i've sat down with OOTP, but I'm really in the mood to start a real-rosters league where I can take over my White Sox starting TODAY (or at least, after the trade deadline), and take them through the off-season and into next season. Basically, I wish I were a real GM and wanna see how my ideas for what to do after this season will work, haha--and of course I wanna try and bring them into the playoffs.

Is there any (relatively) easy way to do this? It would have to be some kind of a quickstart situation right? Does anybody have a real-life mid-season quickstart?
