Another good catch -- there will be somethings in this file that are "set back" from the last version as I had to go back a few versions to make sure the file didn't crash. I'll fix that problem as well.

So is this set good to go if I want to start a real solo game now?

I'm so stoked to have these rosters! I did have a problem though. On June 23 2009 it stopped the sim saying Vermont has an illegal number on the active roster (8). I ran the computer to manage all teams and it's still giving me the message - any help?

Go to league setup, options, and check the box to allow ghost players, should fix things.

Question!

Where exactly do I download the rosters? Does the roster pack work with MAC?

To download these rosters go back one page and look for Cubbyfan's post #644 I believe and the link is provided.

Has anyone else noticed the horrible talent that is available in the draft? Only a handful of players have more than 1 star for potential. This has got to be wrong

Ah -- that is odd. In league setup change the "Generate Players for X Rounds" to 35 -- that should fix things. I have no idea why that was set that way.

I'll throw up a quick fix file with Wigginton in the correct place, the 2009 schedule in, and this piece fixed tonight before I crash.

This is from Angels through Diamondbacks, haven't started with Dodgers and beyond as of yet.

Some mistakes I found:
  • OF Terry Evans is listed as retired; he should be active and is on the Angels' 40-man roster
  • P Brett Hunter is a free agent in the game; he should be a non roster invitee with Oakland
  • P Tyson Ross is a free agent in the game; he should be a non roster invitee with Oakland
  • P Fabio Castro is listed as retired; he should be active and is on the Blue Jays' 40-man roster
  • P Bill Murphy is listed as retired; he should be active and is on the Blue Jays' 40-man roster
  • SS Russ Adams is listed as retired; he should be active and is a non roster invitee with Toronto
  • P Anthony Lerew is listed as retired; he should be active and is a non roster invitee with Atlanta
  • P Eric Gagne is listed as a free agent; he is a non-roster invitee of the Brewers
  • P Sam Narron is doubled up; with Milwaukee's Class A affiliate but also retired
  • OF Sam Fuld is listed as retired; he should be active and is on the Cubs' 40-man roster
  • OF Brandon Watson is listed as retired; he should be active and is a non roster invitee of the Diamondbacks
  • P Jon Coutlangus is listed as retired; he should be active and is on Arizona's 40-man roster
  • P Juan Gutierrez is listed as retired; he should be active and is on Arizona's 40-man roster
Guys missing altogether:
  • The Angels have a pitcher named Francisco Rodriguez (DOB 2/26/83 from Mexico) that is a non roster invitee
  • The Angels have a pitcher named Alexander Torres (DOB 12/8/87 from Venezuela) that is a non roster invitee
  • The Angels have a catcher named Ben Johnson (DOB 10/17/81 from Seattle) that is a non roster invitee
  • The Angels have a catcher named Alberto Rosario (DOB 1/10/87 from the Dominican Republic) that is a non roster invitee
  • The Astros have a pitcher named Polin Trinidad (DOB 11/19/84 from the Dominican Republic) that is on their 40 man roster
  • The Athletics have a catcher named Joel Galarraga (DOB 3/20/82 from Cuba) that is a non roster invitee
  • The Blue Jays have a pitcher named Ken Takahashi (DOB 4/16/69 from Japan) that is a non-roster invitee
  • The Braves have a pitcher named Rafael Cruz (DOB 5/19/77 from the Dominican Republic) that is a non-roster invitee
  • The Braves have a catcher named Mathew Kennelly (DOB 3/21/89 from Australia) that is a non-roster invitee
  • The Braves have a catcher named Frederick Freeman (DOB 9/12/89 from California) that is a non-roster invitee
  • The Brewers have a pitcher named Lindsay Gulin (DOB 11/2/76 from New York) that is a non-roster invitee
  • The Brewers have a pitcher named Nick Green (DOB 8/20/84 from Georgia who is on the 40-man roster
  • The Cardinals have a pitcher named Kat Maekawa (DOB 9/25/78 from Japan) that is a non-roster invitee
  • The Cubs have a pitcher named Ken Kadokura (7/29/73 from Japan) that is a non-roster invitee
  • The Diamondbacks have a left-handed pitcher named Clay Zavada (6/28/84) that is on the 40-man roster
  • The Diamondbacks have a 1B named Josh Whitesell (4/14/82 from North Carolina) that is on the 40-man roster

Go to the first page of this thread and there will be a link to the file. As far as them working with a mac well they work better on a mac then a pc. Using the mac you won't have any crashes if there where any left.

It's been like that for a great many releases; I end up having to fix it when I notice the minors not having enough players.

Looks very good so far, Cubby. Thanks.

One thing of note, and I don't know whether this is something you would want to address for the next release of this set, or whether you would prefer to leave this issue for the OOTP 10 roster set, but the BP Top 100 prospects by Goldstein has come out and #100, Adys Portillo of the Padres, isn't in the set. Portillo is a RHP born on 12/20/91. Also, and of course you can disagree with Goldstein, but #77 Andrew Lambo (Dodgers) and #98 Brandon Erbe (Orioles) are essentially non-prospects in the current set.

Also, just as a matter of my own personal amusement, I like that every single release of this roster set has included an upgrade in the ratings of Matt Wieters. Thanks for everything, but especially that!

Send big files the easy way. Files too large for email attachments? No problem!

Fixed a few things including '09 scheduling and some moves as of today.

BA's Top 30 handbook should be in tomorrow -- plan on including all of those guys in the final OOTP9 release coming up.

Beyond awesome. I'll try to see if I find any other minor things, but this is truly fantastically impressive as is.
