the only problem i can see as im going through the season is that there are to many season ending injuries and long term injuries. zambrano just went down, jeter went down, and arod got hit in the head and got a fractured skull.. out for his career. thats just to name a few.. iim gonna try to switch it to low to see how that makes it go for a few weeks.

other then that it seems pretty good. and since i took off the commissioner mode the contract and owner situations are working out well.

yeah injuries are something people complain about in general, not just with this roster set.

the salary demands are slightly odd though - for instance I was able to trade for Joe Crede and extend him for 3 years / $990k each (remember he's only like 31 years old), yet Aubrey Huff (a 34 year old first baseman) wants $25 million a year.

I think some of that has to do with valuations by the computer and how they weigh '08/'09 stats. It might be too high right now, we could need to set it to weight ratings more heavily.

Does this roster have proper nationalities and correct uniform #'s?

Unis no, nationalities yes (except for major league Canadians who somehow import incorrectly from Lahman, that'll be fixed in the next release).

With two four-day weekends approaching, I think I'm hoping to have this stuff out the door by the New Year. That being said, I've learned doing this over the years to never commit to anything.

are these new rosters.. version 2 rosters gonna start at the same date? like will the rosters be as of november 1st 2008? that would be awesome

The problem we run into is when I try to have the file start anytime in 2008 (November-December), when it rolls into the new year of 2009, the stats from 2008 are not kept. I cannot find a way around this unfortunately.

That being said, I'll be releasing the same "clean" file without any Nov+ roster moves, and then a file with updated ones including all trades/FA signings/waiver claims to date.

It pointless to start at the Free-Agent Period only if you want to see if somebody else would sign CC Sabathia and so on who have already signed or somebody else Trade for Putz and so on.

Im guessing he has a good idea on what he is going to do and doesnt need these constant messages on what you think is a good idea and what isnt.

I mean, to some extent CubbyFan probably does want to hear what we think. For instance, if everyone says "I want a roster beginning before all the recent transactions", then there isn't really any reason for him to rush getting all the recent transactions incorporated before he releases it.

But obviously constant messages are just annoying

Ok, I'm a noob to this game, so bear with me, but I wanted to try these rosters out and am running into some problems.

I downloaded the file in the first post, and placed it into the "My Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 9\saved_games" folder.

When I open OOTP and click "load game", I get these problems..

At about 22% it says "LOADING TEAMS", and I get "DATABASE::create_random_team_logo- could not save team logo!" I have to click "OK" twice, then it continues till about 94% when it says "CHECKING DATABASE", and then I get a windows error box that pops up saying "ootp9.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

I just DL'ed OOTP a little while ago and aside from starting up one league as a test have done nothing. Am I missing something here?

I actually dl'ed it shortly thereafter, but haven't yet put it on. I assumed that by downloading the game so recently I'd have an up to date version, but I guess not. I'll update it later and see if it fixes it.

And sorry for the double post, I made the first one with quick reply and I didn't get any message...it seemed it had vanished..then when I made one with the regular reply is when it told me a moderator had to approve it.

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem or knew how to fix it... i installed the roster went in and added me as a manager for new york and deleted the commissioner now when i review my roster i have no one on my team in any league...if anyone could help that would be appreciated.
