Edit: I have reuploaded the database using Spritze's most up to date database for OOTPX, it's located at the bottom of the first post, hosted by FileFactory. If you download the quickstart from Padre Fans website and the custom database: just extract the quickstart to your quickstart folder, and extract the custom database straight onto the C: drive as that's where it's pointed at within the file. Then it's good to go.

I haven't bought OOTP11 yet, but I thought I read that the database format had changed a little so I don't think it will work perfectly.
not totally sure though.

I actually goofed up and didn't provide the 1st Division with enough players in that last database I put up, I'm very sorry. I just ran a long test and by the 20's there were some issues with fielding teams for the 1st Division.....
![]() It could be fixable on the fly, but I'd rather have it work out of the box. I have now fixed it to provide for more players, and have re-uploaded.

This looks very cool and I've been interested in trying some new set ups.
One thing I'm not clear on from the thread: Is this OOTP11 compatible at this point? If not, can I start it in X and import to 11? Thanks. I'm looking forward to trying it out. |

But I haven't purchased 11 yet so I haven't been able to see exactly what happens. I'd love to hear about it though, not sure if you can just import it. I bet the league works just fine and it will appear to be smooth sailing, however the database setup is different for OOTP11, so I'm not sure what will happen to the draft classes each season as you progress into the future. I have finally completed my sim and have a 1969 file ready for anybody that wanted a file in this format with history behind it. I'm going to organize it with pictures and what not before I put it up -- plus it's a monster file.

I've been playing it a little on X and it's a great file. I took over the Dodgers (my team, but not strong in '03) and created another human manager to run the Portland Beavers in the 1st Division. I'm a play out every game kind of guy, so we're not even to the regular season with the first division yet, but I'm having a great time assembling the first year Beavs. We'll see how they do.
Thanks for the response. I think the great enhancement that 11 will bring is having to bargain for your draft picks. If they don't sign will they become free agents that the lower division could nab? That would be interesting. |

The really important and must have setting for the league to work well is: *finances to be historical and to allow the Owner decide on the budget. That keeps the finances in order progressing through history, and allows for the realism of baseball owners making a killing, but only spending money if they really feel like it. If this setting is different then it can create some major problems if not tested quite a bit. Amateur Draft or no amateur draft is optional, and it will work well either way. I actually simmed 1903-1969 with no Amateur draft so that players would be assigned to their traditional teams - and the new file will come with a Promotion/Relegation "real history" file. I like to see how history plays out in the promotion/relegation format with the Ruth/Gehrig Yankees, and various other great teams, etc. It makes 500 hrs or 300 wins that much harder since players must get them all in the Premier League so it depends on team success as well.

You're right. It would be fun (and different) either way. I haven't checked, but I'm assuming the leagues are set to automatically update the finances as the default with your quickstart. Is that right?
I'm a big "alternate history" kind of guy. I like to play with real players, but put into different situations. The other league I'm playing around with starts in 1884 with 24 (fictional-ish) teams but real players. I'm going to see if I can keep it going up into the 1900s and then expand or add an independent league. Anyway, yours is a great concept and very well executed. Thanks again. |

I'm playing around with the OOTP11 demo to see if I want to make the switch from diamond mind. My ideal league is a relegation style league using historical players (but as drafted players during rookie season), using a 3-2-1-0 points system instead of wins and losses. I tried to get this premier league quick start, which looks great, working in OOTP11 but I keep getting the error, "world.dat is missing". Any ideas? Thanks.

NEW RELEASE 1980 Quickstart
Promotion Relegation Semi-Historical Quick-start 1980 OOTPX, not tested for 11
New File Notes: *Using the original 1903 quick-start from the first post, the 1980 quick-start has full history and is a sim from 1903-1980. *Expansion teams were added. *Recalc was used for the sim in order to provide a historical feeling, but is OFF in the file. *All stadiums are included with pictures. *Free Agency & Arb were added together in 1970. *Players were assigned to their original teams throughout the sim, but in 1980 the amateur draft is ON. 1980 League History: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Greatest Franchise: New York Yankees: One of only four teams with 6000 Premier League Franchise victories, they are the all-time leader in wins & Championships: 6314 wins & 11 titles. Yankee fans are perhaps most proud of the fact that their team is one of only four (Yankees, Giants, White Sox, Phillies!) that have never been relegated to the 1st Division. Twice the Yankees have finished tied for 16th place (1907 & 1967) to finish the regular season, only to win their one-game playoff and remain within the Premier League. Fun Facts: *No player has ever hit 50 HRs within the Premier League. Babe Ruth & Masayuki Kakefu share the record with 49 HRs. (No player has ever hit more then 3 HRs in a game) *The first 1st Division franchise to claim the Premier League Championship did not come along until Sandy Koufax and the 1963 Seattle Rainiers pulled off the once thought impossible feat. The Brewers and Beavers followed suit in 1975 & 1978 respectively. *The Boston Red Sox are the only franchise in Premier League history to ever win Promotion with a 1st Division title and follow it up with a Premier League Championship. They accomplished this miraculous feat in 1969 & 1970. The Brooklyn Dodgers & Boston Braves are the only two franchises to have achieved the opposite: Premier League Championship teams which were demoted the following the season by achieving last place. The Dodgers pulled this off in '56-'57, while the Braves did the same in '77-'78. *Of the original 16-team Premier League, only the Washington Senators & St Louis Browns have never won the Premier League Title. Dynasty Fun Facts: *Only 3 Franchises won 3 Premier Titles in a row, but never 4. All 3 were in a row. The St Louis Cardinals 1905,1906,1907 The Cleveland Indians 1908,1909,1910 The Chicago White Sox 1911,1912,1913 No other team has pulled off the 3-peat since 1913, although 8 champions have repeated. ![]() *Between 1914-1932 the New York Yankees won 6 Championships, never played sub-.500 baseball, and their worst finish was 7th place in 1919 - only 8 games out. Triple Crown Fun Facts: *Only four players have won the Premier Triple Crown: NYY Babe Ruth (twice 1921,1924), NYY Lou Gehrig (twice 1928,1935), STL Mule Suttles (1926), & SEA Ted Williams (1945) *Only Ted Williams has won the Triple Crown in both leagues, having won the 1st Division Triple Crown in 1957. With a week left in his memorable 1957 campaign, at the age of 38 he suffered a serious concussion and was forced to end his career. The Greatest of the Premier League: ![]() ![]() Graphics: Uniforms, Logos, & Colors for all Major League teams (Premier+1stDiv), including future expansion teams should you add those listed above. ![]() ![]() ![]() Minor leagues are generic.
