Endor Baseball League - Quickstart

Just seeing the interest level for my EBL league as a Quickstart.

about 50% done adding the cities and nations, just gotta do schools which may take me the longest to do.

All my cities are mirrored to Earth cities, Population long/lat are from real cities. just the names r changed.

I cant add Wookies, Twileks, Bothans and my favorite, Ewoks as ethnicities so those will have to be put in manually but i do have every major planet from the Galactic Alliance along with every city listed for each planet listed on Wookiepedia.

the quickstart will be 32 teams in 4 divsions for each league with 4 levels of minors.
will post the cities,nations,school,and weather txts with the QS
and a guide as to where teh cities actually are in relation to Earth cities.

Endor City the capital of Endor = Chicago and so forth.
this league uses all the existing txts so u would still have all the earth cities etc.
So I will post more on this in a few days but I plan on having it done by monday and my quickstart up by tuesday after Glee.

So Star Wars fans let me know who u r.

Description as of 1 Mar 11:
This is my Endor Baseball League which takes place on Endor which is featured in Return Of The Jedi. This is NOT A STAR WARS ONLY league. I dont have every character from the Star Wars universe. I have my favorites that I created and put into this game that I created in 1988. So Corran Horn & Darth Vader r not in this. Feel free to add or delete anyone you see fit.
This features Ewoks, Jedi, Batman, Superman, GI Joe, Star Trek, Old West, The Simpsons along with many others.This is my world which is part of the larger Star Wars Universe. This features some nations "planets" that r in the various movies, but not all feel free to add to it, along with all the files that come with the game orig.
This is not meant to be a strict SW Universe league.
Many of the teams are either from Star Wars or various schools I know of or of other fictional worlds.
This league is meant for enjoyment only not to be analyzed like the guy on page 2.

Great idea! As a die-hard SW fan, I've always wanted to create a similar baseball universe but I haven't had the time to put up such an effort (with so many systems, races, organizations, etc., I wouldn't even know where to start lol!)

Spent the last 3 hrs adding HS's for the cities i have already done...still have 21 states left to do most states avg 10-15 cities. I will have all the Endor NCAA schools along with various other plants schools that i have created and what i can find on wookiepedia.
Coruscant has about 100 cities each with a population of min. 10 mil
Corellia has about 25 cities
I have Hoth, Mon Calamari, Ryloth, Tantooine, Dantooine, etc
If I could trim down my EBL vs MLB league that will be the best 1 cuz i will have subleagues for Coruscant Corellia & Tantooine.

trying to finish this as quickly as possible as
i wont have much chance top work on it wed thurs fri.

Most owners r Heros of The Rebellion. Pricess Leia, Talon Karrde, Mara Jade, Luke Skywalker, Chief Chirpa, myself, also has a strong GI Joe influence as well and a small Star Trek influence.

Remind me never to get creative ever again, this is taking 4 months longer then it should.
I added all Simpson towns, but I am not going to put the real HS in but I will add the colleges.

HS' r taking me forever. I stilll have to add 5 more states and the resr of teh planets which thanx to Davms World Gen i am just gonna use that and then change the names...none of those will be getting HS' but close to 50 will have colleges.

should be another week? til i finish completely. but the intial sertup with the 34 states that i have done looks good...I have New France = Canada with about 20 cities an Bezheen = Mexico with 3 cities.
Fullerton = Cuba with atlantis the under water city and 14 cities, never knew Cuba had such a large population.

All Endor to Earth matchups will be in the readme.

Ok its 99% done i didnt add all the planets i wanted to I have been working on this for too long.

I still want to add each teams 5 best players.
I have to finish the stadium dimensions, add a few misc uniforms and see what i can do with the minors, since many of the nicknames i created 14 yrs ago dont have logos from CJ's file that match up with them.

maybe 1-2 more days.

When i left off on High Heat Metropolis had Clark Kent in CF John "Wolverine" Logan in RF, & Peter Parker at SS along with others from each of those.

Most of the Gotham City Batmen were ending their careers, Bruce Wayne Jr was on Brandywine, Bruce Wayne Sr is a HOF CF.but with Glenbard.

Also where should all the files go in order to get everything to show up right? I am taking it that we need to add all the files to the quick start. I have not messed with fictional leagues much. So not sure what I need to do with the files.

32 teams 3 levels of minors, various leagues for AA & A to reflect real MiLB.
several All Stars & Hall Of Famers from each team, including Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Wicket, Jimmy Dugan, Kit Keller, John "Wolverine" Logan, Clark Kent,
Oswald Cobblepot with actual facegen of Danny Devito as The Penguin.
most teams have 2k10 stadiums some r custom. CJ's Logo set was used for most minor league teams.

Any questions please post them here or email me. The Read me should have most answers but maybe not all. I included my High Heat BB Card set which is my players as of 2035 from HH2k3, the team name next to them is not teh actual team they played for. If u want info on a player just ask.
If you want any additional All Stars I have over 5000 self made player bio's for the players that r not on the HH BB cards.

I forgot to add several players notably Rocket SP to SKY and the Fett boys to TOK all should be in the HH BB card set.
i am sure u know how to make a custom poto for a person/player but for Rocket, I use Wicket just Google image it save it resize it to 90 x whatever and put it in.

No, but it has Endor, Alderaan, Coruscant, Tatooine, Corellia, Bakura, Dantooine. Plus in my version I added Kashyyk, Tanaab, Hoth, Naboo which i have heard rumors that 12 will have a cities editor so i can add my cities to these.

Okay so, now I get it.

The EBL is a personal project from your childhood that you decided to share with the rest of the community. Those who download it, don't have to pay a cent for it, since you're sharing it with us all with the best of intentions at heart. I understand and appreciate that, believe me. I do. That being said, your original description of the EBL did make it sound to me as if it were a SW-based league. And so, since you did ask for the opinion of SW fans, I'd like to provide you with some very honest feedback.

Your league is based on Endor and it also features a few systems from the SW universe. Not the ones I would've chosen (that's for sure), but that's perfectly fine.

You're also telling me that your league features a few "notable" SW characters. Excuse me but that is a misconception which can be misleading, since Talon Karrde, Garm-Bel Iblis and a handful of Ewoks (especially Chief Chirpa's son. Never even heard of him!) are not notable SW characters. No Vader, no Yoda, no Palpatine, no Stormtroopers, no Artoo, no Threepio, no Wedge, but a bunch of Ewoks and fictional players?

Sorry, but even if the EBL really were a SW-only league, it would be extremely lacking in "star power", my friend. The twins, Solo, Lando and Chewbacca are about the only notable SW characters featured in your league as players. IMO, that's too little to make the league appealing to a SW fan.

In short, this sounds to me as if someone had created a league around a little league team in 1927 and is promoting it as a historical sim, only because it features a handful of MLB franchises, but no Yankees and especially, no Babe Ruth.

I mean no offense. Again, just my honest opinion and I hope you do understand where I'm coming from. I just think you shouldn't promote this as a Star Wars league the way it would appear. Might've been that I misunderstood but since you've already sent it to Padresfan for download, I would think it better to let people know that the EBL is not a SW-only league, in order to avoid future recrimination from disgruntled SW purist fanboys, such as this rant lol!

It has Lando, Luke, Han, Chewbacca, Prune Face aka Orrimarko, Kyp Durron, Talon Karrde for this fans of the expanded universe.

No I dont have Jar Jar Binks, Anakin Skywalker, Vader, Palpatine, Padme or Bail Organa. I was supposed to have Boba Fett & Jango Fett but I forgot to add them but they r both listed in the HH BB card set that comes with it.

The QS is called Endor Baseball League not Star Wars baseball League ( I plan on doing that 1 someday)

If it's not your cup of tea then fine.

It also has Gotham City & Metropolis and some of the stars from Superman & Batman.

You could use this as a base to create a full Star Wars league.

Well, let's just say that "I find your lack of faith disturbing", Chicagofan

Ok, first thing's first. Yes, I do know who Wicket W. Warwick is, of course. I just didn't know he was Chirpa's son (thanks for the info, btw). And well, that's because, like most SW fans, I'm not that big into Ewoks (or Gungans, for that matter). Hence, Ewok lore is certainly not my area of expertise.

I have already acknowledged that your league includes a few main characters, yes. Just not enough. But please, don't tell me that Prune Face (seen only briefly in Jabba's court room in ROTJ) is a "notable" SW character. That'd be insulting even to a "casual" SW fan.

As for EU characters...well, some fans like 'em and some hate 'em. In my case, I'm neutral. But, other than those which Lucas himself used in the Prequel Trilogy (i.e: Ayla Secura, Quinlan Vos), there's no way anyone can tell me that they are important or notable characters in the SW universe. But even if that were the case, I can think of several EU characters for the time period that you've chosen for your EBL, who are far more important than Karrde, Durron or Garm-Bel Iblis, such as Mara Jade, Admiral Thrawn, Corran Horn or the mad Jedi clone Joruus C'Baoth, for instance.

Seeing your choice in characters it's my turn to ask, are you a SW fan?

I don't question your league, its teams, locations, settings or players. That's the wonderful thing about OOTP, that we can all create custom baseball universes to our liking and share them with others, should we choose to do so. What I've been talking about is the way you describe your league.

Endor is a star system located in the Star Wars galaxy. Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, Han Solo, Chewbacca the Wookie and Lando Calrissian are all SW characters.

You start out your dynasty entry by quoting the "A long time ago, etc." opening words for every single SW film (except for the animated Clone Wars movie, perhaps) and yet, you're telling me that it is not a SW league?

Well excuse me, but at first glance, that's exactly how it appears; like a SW league. But, in order to avoid any further confusion, I'd change the description and terminology I'm using for the league. Nothing easier.

Obviously, I wasn't questioning your choice of planets because of Coruscant, Alderaan, Naboo, Tatooine and Corellia (yes, I know this is Han Solo's home world. I've read A.C. Crispin's books, as well as Brian Daley's. So I know the character's life inside & out, believe me). I was questioning your choice of Dantooine, Tanaab and/or Bakura.

From the films and instead of Dantooine and Taanab, for instance, I would've chosen Yavin and Bespin for their historical importance, if not for anything else.

From the EU, I would've chosen Korriban and/or Sonama Zekot over Bakura, without even thinking about it twice. Those planets are, after all, home planets to the Sith and Yuuzhan Vong; by far, the best and most important villains in the SW Universe, both on film and in the EU and by far, much more important locations than Bakura. But then again, that's just me and my "lack of knowledge" of SW lore and history heh heh...

Yes, I know. I downloaded the quickstart and that's why I asked you if it was not a SW-only league, when I saw names like Gotham, Bruce Wayne and such. Not interested in a DC Comics league, to tell the truth.

No, this isn't my cup of tea, you're right. But it's not fine.

Because your description of this league misled me into believing that the EBL was something that it clearly isn't. So again, nothing easier than a change in choice of words to describe the league, as to avoid any further confusion.

Thank you but it'd be much easier for me to create a SW-based league on my own. Haven't done it yet, because I'm currently developing 3 different leagues (I'm a graphic designer, so creating my team logos, unis and even ballparks presents little difficulty. I have been sharing some of them here as they come along, actually) and I haven't had the time to work on a SW-based league. Hence the reason why I thought it'd be cool to download your QS. Still, I may yet get my own SW league started, soon as I'm done with my other projects.
