World of Baseball 13 BETA
Been hard at work since 13 was released on a colossal World of Baseball universe...not to plug OOTP 13 or anything, but in my opinion, this version is the most stable, fastest, and most impressive yet! I've been running many tests with this universe and have come up with some very realistic player movement.
UPDATED 2-3-13: WORLD OF BASEBALL 13 BETA 2.0 http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?ai0a0p42q8l1b2c Here's what WOB13 BETA contains: 1. MLB and all minor leagues courtesy of OOTP roster makers (I used the initial roster release for this universe) 2. *** and KBO 2011 rosters courtesy of STLKyle, with one-tier of real-life industrial teams serving as a *** college feeder. 3. CPBL 2012 roster courtesy of Linih plus his Taiwanese amateur league converted into a CPBL college feeder 3. Nutt's monolothic NCAA universe (I took 15 conferences from Nutt's universe and converted them to workable feeders for the MLB) 4. NCAA Division II, Division III, NAIA, JuCO, and HS regional feeders for MLB 5. Dominican/Venezuelan Prospect leagues act as HS feeder for MLB (to emulate younger international free agents/ currently all game-generated international free agents are disabled) 6. All Japanese independent leagues in one consolidated league association 7. All North American independent leagues in one consolidated league association 8. Other little tiny experimental things, most of which require manual intervention. What this release DOES NOT contain: 1. Updated rosters across the board This is a colossal universe, but OOTP 13 and my PC seemed to handle it fine. The MLB is set with a realistic amateur draft of 50 rounds/55 generated...you might want to adjust that to your liking. This BETA release doesn't contain any graphics or adjusted financials, market sizes, stadiums, etc. All of those fine details will be included in a future release. One suggestion is to disable the amateur drafts for the Japanese and North American independent leagues after the 2012 season...there should be plenty of free agents in the pool to absorb after one year of simming for the independent leagues to grab. Simply just put the extracted .lg folder in your 'saved games' folder within OOTP in My Documents. These are only the .dat files. Please leave any feedback and bug reports. Last edited by Dr. P.R. Another suggestion: possibly add more rounds for the Australian Baseball League amateur draft...just ran into a problem with teams not signing any players despite their being 4000+ free agents.

i would if its doable! since i usually dont mess around with fictional leagues.
so its possible to have winner of MLB faceoff winner of *** and others as well in a extended playoff format? hehe i just read the association playoff in the OOTP manual, very interesting. may toy around with the idea! Last edited by a2ndrgmaster; 04-12-2012 at 01:54 PM. |

Yes, to emulate that scenario you need to make an association that includes whichever major leagues you want...then set-up the applicable play-off options.

Doc, you've saved me a boatload of time. I was going to do this for myself. Good work my friend!

Wow, this is absolutely awesome!!! I wish I had money to give you
I am, unfortunately, quite broke to say the least (living pay check to pay check). I have, maybe, a $100 in my bank account :/ Hopefully, you can accept my thanks until I have enough money to make a real gesture of gratitude |

Will international players (mainly Puerto Rico & Canada) feed into the NCAA? Perhaps even HS on some occasions?

Probably not...that seems a bit much for OOTP to handle right now. To achieve the desired results, all I can suggest is that you create a Puerto Rican or Canadian high school feeder league via the Edit League Structure interface and Create HS Feeder League button in the bottom right corner. Set the host nation of the league to the desired country and all players (or atleast most) should be from the host nation, and they theoretically should feed directly into the MLB or into the NCAA (if you set your leagues as HS). Hope this helps.

Fantastic so far!
Could add Cape Cod League and maybe the Intercounty League as Independants though. No big deal. Thanks for all the effort. |

You have your finger on the pulse better than I do: Do you think we'll see a 2012 *** roster?

Yeah, STLKyle is working on one now. Whenever Markus is done releasing patches, I was going to rebuild the universe with different templates, and include the 2012 version.

Have been adding logos to the universe and just noticed the KBO has two extra teams that played no games but have players with rosters.
Color me confused Expansion teams?? I can't find anything about new teams joining the league. |

I think that was somehow caused by the League Evolution setting and I didn't realize it when I made the template. It should be fixed in a later version, but for now I'd just make them fresh expansion teams. BTW, mind sharing your graphics if you do the entire universe?
