2014 Opening Day for MLB, AAA, AA, A+ & A
I took the all-in-one quickstart (with IL active) and set up the opening night (3/31) MLB 40 man rosters, as well as the opening rosters, as best I could find, for AAA, AA, A+ and A.
Some of the DL entries might be sketchy in the minors, but everyone should be where they started the year for A ball and up. I'm in the process now of doing a replay of the 2014 season, using the starting lineups and pitchers for each game for all levels, injuries off (added by hand), simming each game. "OOTP cannot load this database because the file world.dat is missing"
Anyone else getting this issue with this quickstart? Said file is definitely in the quickstart folder. I'm on a Mac. |

I've managed to make it up to June 4. Hitting a wall with the draft coming up, because through 4 rounds of editing up the import file, about 20% of the 'real' players aren't in the game.
Also, there's a lot of DSL players that aren't in the DB. I don't think I'm going to worry about them, though. I also abandoned the idea of playing the actual minor league games, just because it takes too damned long. I am keeping up on the minor league transactions, and using MLB Depth Charts to track injuries. I'm trying to track down a 2014 draft update to hopefully get me over this hump. |

It's a massive amount of work as you no doubt realize and there are only two of us doing all the ratings and additions of new guys. We're working on it and the latest patch has everyone from the draft through round 6 or 7 and a few hundred extra drafted guys overall added. Beyond that though I'm afraid you'll just have to be patient. As for the DSL, haveband is adding new DSL and July 2nd guys pretty much every day. The latest patch has many new guys he's added and anyone still missing will be added soon. |

I've no doubt that it's an enormous undertaking. I'll likely just jump around the block by renaming people to fit. I'm not too concerned about the long term accuracy and none of these picks are going to be playing very high up in their organizations.
I'm also not going to worry too badly about the DSL. I forgot to not include them when I started this. |

I did that , and got the following message
" This quickstart game must be loaded from our server before you can use it. Please open Add-Ons central in the Game Menu, locate the quickstart game in the files list, then download and install it. Unfortunately, you need to create or load another game to access Add=ons Central dialog. We will that in the next release |

That being said, 15.4.19 should certainly be recent enough. Are you sure the patch installed correctly? If so, I'm not quite sure what other suggestion to give. In my experience that message only happens if you have an old patch, but it may be occurring for some other reason in your case. If so, it's beyond my expertise, maybe someone else will be able to help. |

Can someone tell me if I am installing this file right?
1. Download folder from google docs. 2. Unzip MLB+Minor+IL.quick.zip 3. Show Package Contents of OOTP 15 4. Navigate to Contents/default_data/ 5. Unzip quickstart_games_file.tar 6. Paste MLB+Minor+IL.quick folder into quickstart_games_file folder 7. Compress and save quickstart_games_file folder as .tar At this point I am still only able to see the default 3 quickstart games. Can someone help me out? |

All quickstarts are in their own folder and folder name needs to end in .quick. The actual file need to be kept in the .tar format. All one should need to do is extract the zip file to ootp's quickstart_games folder and nothing else. Afterwards you should see a folder in the quickstart_games folder with a name like this: Folder name: MLB+Minor+IL.quick file name: MLB+Minor+IL.tar BTW: it's alway best to not use capitalizations and use underscores between names rather than spaces, plus signs etc. |

Torognius,
I, too, started a sim with accurate 40 man's and have been playing out every MLB game in my sim. However, I am now at June 6th (the draft) and am about 3 rounds into it and tired of manually drafting every player already. Did you find a work around to make this any easier? Maybe a file to input? Thanks for any help. |

I'm using MILB.com to look up the players, and the draft results at MLB.com to see who has signed. For the guys who have signed, MILB.com gives me all the info I need to clone an existing player and then just change the name, birthday and hometown. I search the existing DB for a guy at the same position and throwing/batting side. Then I try to match up as close as possible with height, weight and age. For pitchers, I'll also look at their stats so far to see who is being used as a starter, reliever or closer. I'll also set the facegen, where possible, to match the picture at least a little bit. For the guys who didn't sign, I'll clone a guy and change the name, but I'm not too worried about matching them up. The filters make it pretty quick to search guys out by position, so I'll make all my pitches, then all my infielders, then my outfielders, then manually draft them for the round. For teams that didn't have picks in the first 3 rounds, I either took one of their supplemental picks or one of their 36-40 picks to fill the hole. I also edited the draft order to match the actual draft order, since it has the Brewers and Blue Jays and the Padres and Giants switched. It probably would have been quicker in the long term to just create all the missing guys, then do an export and import from .csv file, but I spend enough time at work looking at spreadsheets. |

hats off to you guys who make the rosters. I finally finished the draft... well, the 35 rounds in the game, anyways. I'll still have to add the guys who were drafted in 36-40 and sign.
